invest in my business...just kidding, but choice will depend on what are you career as well as financial goals.
If you wish to relax and watch money groing investment in high return ipo issues, bonds is good idea. Buying real estate and earning rental income works well too. (I have done it with my savings..it rocks).
If you wish to work hard and risk the money to grow faster than traditional investment options then choose type of work you love. not like but you love...hard work pays off most when you invest in what you love..remember there is market for anything that is good. |

1.5 Crores in India could mean either big money or may not at all considering on the level of earnings and perspective of the wide strata of people available in India.
I would suggest you to either get in to small scale manufaturing or getting down to areas of small multiple Product Trading.
This may be within the city of your preference or even import-export which would involve overseas fraternities.
It all depends in which city you are to decide on what you want to trade which also help up to plan your costing in terms of investing which would involve 1) investment for the place you want to trade 2) Rolling opeational costs 3) fixed costs
4) Overheads involved
I will be able to give you more ideas if you like get in touch since I am myself planning to expand my business and areas of interests

Most of our friends here have given you great advice, i.e. consult a professional. But take a few opinions as a lot of them might lure you into things for their own benefit.
It all depends on your age and what type of person you are too.
Personally, although its a lazy and safe idea, with Fixed Deposit rates going at 9.5% per annum, your 1.5 crores would give you Rs.14.25 lakhs per year just by sitting in your bank account !!! In most businesses, you will have to struggle hard for a few years to really start making that kind of money. Most big corporations work on lesser margins.

I think it is not the right time to start a new business in india. As many MNCs has arrived india and some are planning to touch india.In practical business there seems no any big benefit in new business.
According to me go for rental income as MNCs prefer to take premises on rent and they pay handsome rent on good rental terms.
You will get good rent as well as appreciation on the property. |

I know you may not like this answer.
But honestly speaking, if you really had 1.5 crores of money you wouldn't be asking questions in yahoo boards and forums. You would rather consult a financial advisor or hire some agency on your behalf.
Moreover, business is a business. It doesn't have to be something out of the ordinary. A business that you believe in and put your soul into, will work irrespective of whether it is an innovative one or the one that is at every nick and corner.
Alternatively, even if you get an idea that has never been implemented could still fail if you do not give your 100%.
Bottom line. Any business is a good business as long as you know how to handle situations and move along. |
