why don't you tell me what your idea is first? Then I'll get back to you in a few days.....
muhahhaahahaaaa
but seriously. you need to write a business plan first. get a book on how to write one. this is the most important thing to do. If you're too lazy to do this, then you're too lazy to have your own business. |

First write a business plan. Include everything you can think of relating to the business. Find help on writing one if you need, but you must analyze all costs. Then take your business plan to an accountant and go over it with him/her to see if it is realistic. This will cost a couple hundred dollars but may save you much more in time and money. If you like the accountant keep them to help you later. If you plan on doing all the bookkeeping yourself at least let them set you up and get off on the right foot. He can also help you set up your corporation. A lawyer could also do this part and its always nice to get a second professional opinion. Research your lawyer and accountant. Don't hire yes men. You want someone who will give you the bad news first and give it to you straight. |

Check out the Small Business Administration site. SBA wants small businesses to succeed, so they have lots of hints, tips, and help. Look at the link that says "Small Business Planner". It will tell you how to plan, start, maintain, and even end your business. http://www.sba.gov/ |

If your business idea is worth investing money into, then it is worth investing time into. Start buy asking tough questions about the market, the product/service, steps to obtain license, insurance, etc.
Get some experts on your team. Read some books on success and model excellence. Follow my links and get your mind involved just as much as your heart! |

Always make sure to get prime real estate location. Create a website so customers can see your product online. Chose a phone company that can handle high volume calls. Make sure to get a Bookkeeper/Accountant, if your not doing it yourself. Make sure that the name you use for your company is not someone else's company name. I believe you have to put a add in the newspaper, not sure. There are other stuff these are just some basic. |

Ok, I do this all the time.
What you need to do is map out your strategy.
-Who are my prime customers?
-What am I charging for my goods/services?
-Is my profit margin enough?
-How will I market to my prime customers?
-Are there other avenues of profit in my business?
-What makes me stand out above the competitors?
If you answer these questions, you have it made.
Good Luck,
If you need any specific pointers, drop me a line: infobrokernate@yahoo.

I think the best place to start is too right a "Business plan" contrary to belief its not just for those who need a loan. It will help outline what your business is all about not to mention the marketing and finances, side of things and will give you a realistic idea of wether your business will work or not. Give it a go nothing too lose and so much too gain. |
