It is okay but why do they need it i wouldn't give it to them because they may be a detective looking for stolen merchandise or some who would use the information to report it stolen I am sure you have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide but why risk it. Also when you go to the store down the road to buy an amplifier you can not rip the package open an read the serial # GOD BLESS |

Yes, they cant do anything with it. I have sold coach purses, and people always want the serial number. |

I would. They may be checking to see if it has ever been repaired or even trying to establish a fair value for it. Sounds like a good potential buyer to me. |

Yes, It helps to identify the exact model. It should not be possible to trace your address from the serial number.

not sure why they would want that...if you have given them all the specs...I think that is much like a vin # for a car

yes, no problem. They prob just want to check the year it was made or something. Be carful with cell phones and things like that. |

I wouldn't give it to them. Theres no reason for them to have it and I could only think of negative things they could do with it.
if they want the model numberand everything thats fine but a serial won't tell them anything else. They could need it for their own warranty info if theirs is stolen. |
