No. Unless your contract prohibits you from working for a competitor or client, then it is none of his business. Tell him you are going traveling. |

i would'nt imagine so. i would ask why they want to know. if it is to tell them bad thing's about you, don't tell! |

I wouldn't tell him.. it sounds like your manager is bitter that you're leaving so he wants to call your next boss and tell him what's wrong with you.. |

No you don't have to tell , but why would you want to keep it secret ??
If you are going to a competitor then perhaps he is worried you will pass on info , but your current contract would bar you from that sort of thing .
Your new company will contact your current company at some stage to confirm all the data you supplied on your application was factually correct , so he will probably get to know anyway |

No, you don't. Since he's asking, too, I would not tell. it's none of his business. Make sure you don't tell anyone who might tell him, either. Sounds like he's trying to sabotage your new job. |

1. depends if you have given current work place as a reference, as they may have already contacted him and he is just wishing to check details.
2. You are a good worker and your manager might want a chance 2 see if he could change your mind. Unless there have been a few people leaving and they wish to know why/where competition is from. |

i wouldn't think so. i suppose you could hand your notice in for any reason, not just because you found other employment. |
