I need a legit home-based opportunity....?
For the past year I have been scouring the internet for some sort of lead to a legitimate and profitable home business. Some that I have found are either too high in cost (for me, at least), or they don't feel right (they just look like a scam to get my money), or there just isn't enough information. I'm willing to put in some elbow grease. I really am! But I need a great product and a legitimate company that can back it up. I'm only 23 years old, but I understand that I want to be able to do the things that my parents never did and I want to make sure that my family has the things that we never had growing up. If anyone could please help me out....It's well appreciated!

I'd have to disagree with some of the posters answers here. I know a LOT of people who have home based businesses in several different industries and very well support their families. Some partnered up with companies and some started something on their own. Both ways different people went, make about the same amount of money. Give or take a few. Based on the time and effort that they put into it. You can't treat a business like a job, you have to work it. Regardless if it's home based or not. Home based businesses give you the same income opportunity as a traditional business, without all the over head expenses. They really are no different except for the fact you work out of your home, and don't have to have "traditional" business hours. The ones that have collaborated with business, they do make more of a profit then the traditional business owners I know. Not everyone owns their own business, or could even fathom it. But having a business creates an incredible opportunity for anyone to have financial gain.
I know quite a few people in the telecommunications industry. They partnered up with a 15 year old world wide company that markets in services that people use every day and pay for anyway. Services such as local and long distance telephone services, Internet, digital and video phone services, Satellite TV, VOIP as well as partnered up with all major cellular phone providers. They save people money on services that they are already using every day, and offer people new services that they don't already have. Upgrade and extend cellular phone contracts through all the major cellular phone providers as well as put people onto new contracts. Every month these people pay their bills, one way they get paid is getting a percentage every single month that these people pay their bills.
I know someone who has had their own business for over seven years, and does incredible. If this is an industry that is of interest to you, I suggest you contact her for further information.
http://www.tiffanyvague.acnrep.com Her contact is on the first page.
She also wrote an article to help people in finding home based businesses that is right for them. The economy is going down hill, so she tries to help many people out in finding things that are legal, legitimate and good for them. Here's the URL if you'd like to read up on home based business opportunities. The article has a listing of over half a dozen different industries for you to look into and find one that suits your needs!
Good Luck!

You are very young and you sound determined to reach your goals. I looked around until I found a company that was new, but established. One that has less then 100,00 distributors. I didn't want a me too company. I wanted something unique. I found a unique service and opportunity called SendOutCards. We show others how to become card senders and share how we change lives one card at a time by sending unexpected cards to people to show them we care. They are real printed greeting cards that you create on your computer and they print and ship from Salt Lake City. It cost as low as $.62 cents for a high quality greeting card.

There is a business opportunity to show others and make money by doing this. you don't have to pay a monthly website, FREE DVD's and you can send pictures in your cards in your own handwriting.

I would love to show you more if you wish or you can try it with a complimentary gift account. You can try it out and see what you think. There is no competition and the product is so unique.

You're wise to avoid the scams and to do the research.

It sounds like you're looking to sell someone else's product or be employed at home rather than starting your own company. My own feeling is that buying a franchise or buying into an MLM chain really isn't worth it. You're selling the same thing that lots of others are already selling and putting up a ton of money to do so.

At-home employment would be ideal, because you wouldn't have startup costs and you'd have a regular paycheck. Finding such employment is hard to do, but it does exist. For example, some call centers now use people who work from home, but often there's an initial period where you must go into an office. And the pay is low, though if you wokr 55-60 hours each week, the overtime would add up. Another example would be computer programming, but you'd have to be very experienced to be employed from home.

Your best bet is to start a business that's truly your own. Most service businesses cost less to start than goods-based businesses. Look for a need to fill. How might you fill that need and profit from it?

One thing that comes to mind is tutoring. You sound intelligent. There are all levels of tutoring, and it can pay big. People who tutor for college boards can actually make close to six figures, but there are also people who tutor elementary school kids on the basics for fees that parents of more modest incomes can afford. You might want some supplies, but you can also have the kids bring their own textbooks to work from.

Helping people sell their things on eBay is another possibility. People often don't want to take the trouble, and things sell better when the seller is better known. So one person making many sales becomes known and learns the process, so it's easier to do. I've seen a couple of storefronts that are just dropoff places for eBay items. Once you have some income, you can consider adding products of your own.

Another business I'm seeing more of is people who help others with paying their medical bills. When you're sick, the bills can add up fast, and you're just not up to dealing with them. And the same bill can come over and over, and it can look like many bills. It's just hard to keep track of them and even to make sense of them. So people are paying others to deal with the bills, the insurance companies, hospitals, doctors, and sometimes the collection agencies. Often a medical statement will look just like a bill, but nothing is owed yet, because the insurance gets billed first. Then when the insurance pays, a real bill will come. It can be very confusing.

The public library has many books on home-based businesses and entrepreneurship. The ideas are more legitimate than many online ideas. Do some research there.

Don't think 23 is too young. You're a full-grown adult. Some people become multi-millionaires before they're 30 - a few are younger than you. Now is a great time to get started!

We can answer all your concerns and show you a great product with a legitimate 23-yr. old company - coincidence, you're 23 years old! Contact me anytime and I'll fill you in.

If you're only 23 years old and physical mobility isn't an issue, then I don't see why you can't go to school and get a regular job in the meantime. Everyone can relate to the desire to support yourself in your pajamas, but it's a pipe dream; even the Google guys show up to work every day.

Home-based opportunities are either self-created and will take up 60 hours per week of your time as a sole-proprietor, or they're nonsense Internet or MLM scams that will just frustrate, impoverish, and degrade you. If you want to start your own business I would certainly encourage you to do that, but leave the turn-key operations in the dregs of the Internet where they belong.

I suggest that you take a look at an online review on a home based business that you may find interesting. They have 2 exclusive products and a compensation plan that is patend pending. It is a low cost, genuine and ethical home based business. They also offer a free month to evaluate the business and see if it is for you. In the free month's trial you only pay for postage (USD $4.95). Hope it helps
