You could setup a blog or website, this is completely free. Once you have added some good content, you can start to earn money from advertising. I know you wont make a huge income from this, but it would get you started working from home.
Pick a topic which you are very interested in, and write a piece on that everyday.
I've given step by step instructions on how to create a website for free, and then add adverts to it so you can start generating income.

Check out the data entry jobs listed on the website I give. They have plenty of on-line jobs you can start out with. Also, I suggest the Global Data Entry & Traditional Data Entry Jobs listed at the top right hand corner of the home page. That is the data entry job that seems the most on the level and legit. They have many positions and will take the time to train you right to get you on your way to making great money.
P.S. You don't even need a time limit for your typing experience, you don't even need experience to begin with. This is a wonderful opportunity. They have openings for people in several different countries also. It's great!

Unfortunately there isn't a lot out there that is valid, legal or worthwhile. Have you thought about maybe contracting yourself out or freelancing instead with a reputable outfit? Sometimes professors, colleges, business outfits and what not need that sort of work done.
If you're good at editing, that's another option as well? |

Depending on your background, you could consider medical transcription, coding or billing. I was a medical transcriptionist working from home.
Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there's a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.

I thought the same thing- who wants to pay money to make money? I spent a lot of time searching the internet job/business industry and what i found is there is a lot of "jobs" that do not require a start up fee. The ones I tried ending up costing me a ton of my time to make next to nothing. Now internet "businesses" do require a start up fee. The problem is finding the right one, and most importantly, not getting ripped off. I got involved with a great business that makes a lot of sense. long term steady income require some patience and dedication.. fast n easy money r mostly scams..
I have been successful with adsense and pretty happy with it till now, Its free to start with so no startup cost whatsoever. what i suggest is start your own blog/site and monetize it with adsense, or get some content writing assignments, you can also try data entry or writing sponsored articles and reviews.
