Are you looking for a business to run online, or a job working for someone else? If it's for someone else, your looking at making minimum wage. After taxes, then your take home, I'm sorry, but will be below minimum wage. Not to great huh?
Your other option is to look into having a home based business in an industry that you like. You can have both on line or off line businesses. You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business, without all the over head expenses. A huge income opportunity for you there working from home. I created a blog on my 360 yahoo page on home based business opportunities. Over half a dozen different ones to choose from in several different industries. Also a lot of information on scams and what to look for the BBB, and a few other things you should be educated on.

There are many ways to make money online. The real trick is sorting out the legitimate money-makers from all the scams that are out there.
There's a terrific list at eHow that gives more than 20 ways to make money online. The list covers everything from writing (articles, blogs), to selling photography, to (believe it or not) getting paid for online jury duty, surveys, and focus groups.
There's even a site for making money listening to music and rating it, and another for playing online games.

Unfortunately, I learned how to make money online the hard way… trial and error. I tried a bunch of different things like envelope stuffing, paid-to-click, and even mystery shopping, but all of those things either didn’t pay enough or didn’t pay at all. Then I read a newspaper ad about a great website that pays you monthly for filling out offers for advertisers.
It’s called CashCrate, and I’ve written a blog about it. You have to work at it though. You wont' get rich overnight, but the key is to REPLACE the income that you normally work for.
For example, you make 500 a week, but it's not enough. What would you normally do? Get a 2nd job? That'll bring in about another 500 per month, but your exhausted.
So your first goal is to create the 2nd job's income. Then once you are creating the 500, you increase from there.
I've been doing it a few months, and its starting to get going.
