KID, I'M WRITING THIS, SO YOU BETTER READ IT ALL!!!
Everything that you've heard about going to school and staying in college getting an education is B.S., (and I don't mean Bachelor of Science). It is not the most important thing in the world. It is important, but not the most important. First, decide what you want to do. Not just some dream of "having a nice high office in a well known and rich compan," but WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO with YOUR LIFE. Most people don't ever answer this question for themselves. Whatever it is now does not mean it's going to be the same thing ten years from now or twenty years from now.
Business is an educational process, people go to college and then to grad school to come out with degrees so they can learn how to do business. You want to learn how to do business, what it takes to be successful in business, how to conduct certain financial, organizational, and administrative business tasks. START YOUR OWN BUSINESS. And don't start some lemonade stand, take a chance. Look around and either create a niche or fill a void. Ask yourself: WHAT IS MISSING IN MY COMMUNITY THAT I CAN PROVIDE FOR A FEE. (THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX) Business is about making money, it's not the love of money, it's the choices the money gives you.
Your 14 years old; What are your hobbies? What skills do you posses? How much money do you have saved up that you can you to invest in your business? Do you know where you local Tax Office is? Do you want to be in business for yourself or with a couple of partners? ie. Your Dad. Do you know anyone who owns their own small business? (GO TALK TO THEM) Do you own a pencil and notebook? (START WRITING YOUR IDEAS DOWN) Write down questions and answers and questions to answers. Write and write and write and then, Work on a BUSINESS PLAN. SBA.GOV has a list of business plans that you can take a look at and format your ideas around.
I know this seems like a lot of work, but really it's more fun than anything. If you don't have enough money, than get a job and start spending your money on things like your insurance and licensing and other permits pertaining to your business.
PRINT THIS OUT, if you need to. Don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't right now, because your too young, or you need more education, or something else. They are just trying to scare you because they're scared you might do something they wouldn't try to do when they were your age. Read, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin.
Good Luck, I hope you drive that Lambo to your Senior Prom, if you decide to go. |

hi, my name is Oscar a.k.a pooh and i want to be an business man too because i want to have a big house and a lamboo 2 but i have to work for it well my cousin was a business woman and she didn't even graduate from high school she owned her own cleaning service and was getting paid a lot for her service. your dad is right about the college thing but the only thing you have to do is get your license and you will be on your way I'm not telling you to not go to college but you can get your license and get your company together early, but when you go to college the only thing that it says that you are an business man and you are smart. which will make you probably about a little extra money but if you want it early i suggest you get your license and get on your way to an better future |

Be prepared to start at the bottom, never presume someone is better than you,and never presume someone is a lesser being than you, learn every aspect of the project in hand,be patient and never give up.
Also there's more to life than Lambo's,look at the bigger picture.Good Luck |

Read the Wall Street Journal or Baron's Weekly. Both of those have a lot of good information about business.
College will help you a lot, so don't forget to plan for that. It's good that you're getting a head start and learning some more now, before you go to college. |

College is a step in the right direction, but you could consider apprenticeships, too. They get you right there in with the action so you're seeing the day to day business life and what it entails. Ask around and see if anyones offering apprenticeships with a company you'd think you'd like to see the inner workings of. Pass the idea by your dad... maybe has some contacts or favors he can call in for you! Lots of the above advice is good too, especially the post about education yourself! Goodluck! |

In starting a business, a feasibility study should be undertaken to examine three main areas:
- market issues
- technical and organizational requirements
- financial overview
Within a feasibility study, seven areas must be reviewed, including those of a Needs Analysis, Economics, Technical, Schedule, Organizational, Cultural, and Legal.
A needs analysis should be the first undertaking of a feasibility study as it clearly defines the project outline and the clients' requirements. Once these questions have been answered the person/s undertaking the feasibility study will have outlined the project needs definition. The following questions need to be asked to define the project needs definition: What is the end deliverable? What purpose will it serve? What are the environmental effects? What are the rules and regulations? What standards will we be measured against? What are the quality requirements? What is the minimal quality requirements allowed? What sustainability can we expect? What carry over work can we expect? What are the penalty clauses? How much do we need to outsource? How much do we need to insource?
The above initial undertakings will give you an idea on the viability of the project. Other considerations such as technical, schedule, organizational and marketing feasibility will be taken.
Good Luck to the new dictator. |

Well, aside from being good at math, more importantly is your ability to get along with people and market yourself. It could be helpful to take a Speech or Debate class to get comfortable speaking to groups. |

follow the advise of your dad--he is the wiser of any wise men you ever talk to. begin your ground floor foundation by learning the English language and the meaning of words. always spell correctly and if this is a problem use a "check spelling" system on your computer. Stay in school as long as your money holds out. every dollar spent will reap ten fold in your quest to be the leader of this great country of our the USA. good luck |

Let's face it: the likelihood of you having a lambo working for someone else is unlikely. The large majority of "successful" people are business owners.
There are plenty of successful business owners who have never seen the inside of a college. There's no law that says you need a college degree to run a business. And you don't have to wait for some college to tell you that you're capable of running a business.
Here's what you do:
1. Find several people you look up to who are successful in business, share your vision, your dreams, and your plans and ask them for advice. Even better, ask them to mentor you.
2. Educate yourself by going to your local library and read everything you can get your hands on about marketing, business, advertising, etc. Here are two books to get you started:
"The Millionaire Next Door" and "The Millionaire Mind" - both by Thomas J. Stanley.
All the best to you! |
