Well first you have to look to see if anyone else has that idea. If so, maybe you can get some ideas from them. If not you will need to make yourself a website.

Step one is to abandon the "If you build it, they will come" myth. A great idea is only an idea if there's not a paying customer out there waiting to purchase it.
Step Two is to put together a business plan:
(1) Define your market, your customer and your competition; identify your sources of competitive advantage - why someone will buy from you instead of the other guy.
(2) Based on #1, refine your product (or service), your pricing, your distribution plan (a.k.a. "place" - where a customer orders your product, how they receive it), and your promotion - how you get the word to your customers that your product exists.
CAUTION - make sure your product lends itself to online sales! If it's too costly to ship, you're toast. If it's something like a compound bow or a guitar that the buyer will want to test firsthand, you're toast. If it's an "I want it right now" impulse purchase, you're toast.
(3) Work the numbers. How many products do you expect to sell at your price point? What is your cost of goods sold? What are your fixed (e.g. web site hosting, insurance) and variable (e.g. travel, advertising) costs? At the end of the day, can you sell enough products to earn an acceptable profit? Is your idea scaleable? Can you be profitable at low sales volumes, but also meet spikes in demand?
(4) Work out your supply chain. Where will you get the raw materials & other stuff you need to consistently fulfill orders?
Here's the bad news: Unless you have a lot of collateral to put in the mix, it'll be pretty much impossible to get a bank loan to start your business. You need to be able to do it on the cheap or fund it yourself. |

In Australia and im sure you govt. would do it too, develop a business plan making sure its correct and informative and present to your govt. agency ours is called CENTRELINK, if your product or business plan will work you will be given a loan of an amount to support your business. In other ways keep saving or find a part time job and when you got the cash begin to start slowly. |

With excellent computer skills what about the internet. A webs-site. Is it a service business, sales of some sort. Post the items for sale set yourself up a merchant account (Visa mastercard) and let the money roll in. If it is a service account.
There are several things you can do. Contact me I will help.
1. Start-up legally with by registering your business. You can do this yourself on-line and it will save you money without going thorugh an attorney.
2. Set yourself up a bank account.
3. Get yourself a tax ID # both Federal and state. Just a phone call away.
4. Set-up some type of accounting system.
5. Once everything is legal. Start advertising. Your web-site, other ways on the internet, fliers passed-out, business cards, run advertisements in local papers, small papers or large papers or more expensive.
6. You can do this yourself. There will be some cost but not the cost of hiring somebody to do it for you.
7. There is an old saying that "you have to spend money to make money". So, you will have to invest something.
8. You also have to get your idea out to the right people, market the right area.
