You could sell most of those products in one go, but you need to raise awareness of your company and product custom. Here are a few ideas:

Use one of the ebay shops to promote your range of products

Advertise locally and nationally through papers and any revelant magazines

So how much it would cost to put a stall in local shopping centres on a saturday.

Research the competition, can your selling price be lower?

I personally believe that jewellery will always sell but it depends on which age market you are looking at. Have a look at ebay.co.uk and do a search on jewellery and you can see what is popular and what is not. Use the link below for contacts regarding stock. Good luck.

go for small market niches. something related with knitting and wool for instance.

You should sell clothes airers - some people don't know how to use them ha ha !!!!

Either that or magical products that remove pollen from clothes !!!

hi. well i would start with something that is always needed such as beauty products... books is also something worth considering since it is no big risk for a consumer to buy something from Internet... maybe some jewelery or household items would be easy to trade in too...

anyway good luck and give us your website address when you set it up... who knows maybe we start buying stuff from you ;-)

Consumable products are by far the best to sell.

Being that a person will use what ever and then need to buy more just as your idea with make up. When it is used up you have to get more...

The quicker the consumable product is used the better for sales.

For example, a car is bought on average every 5 years, where as a soft drink is purchased every day.

You can't wait 5 years for your next pay check...

So find a quickly used consumable to sell. You will make less off each item but you will have a more steady cash flow.

Also go with the popular items that everyday people use and not fad items. You do not want to have a box of 100 tubes of flourescent green lipstick that you will never sell...

Where as a box of the main stream items will always sell.

Lastly,
Find a unique item that is hard to find else where, this will give you a better start in the market place.

If there is a special brand of make up that is hard to get but the people want, "like the things hollywood make up artists use"
get it and put it out there.

to be honest i feel your best option is to start selling on ebay, gauge the market and see what sells, many large website selling direct on line also use ebay to sell, sell what you can get hold of easily at first and go for gaurented profit

As an internet trader, distribution cost are critical to success. Consider what percentage of selling price will be distribution and see if you can beat high-street retaillers. I'd say lighter value-value items will offer you the most benefits.

However... consider that buying jewellery is a 'touchy feely' activity and how suitable is it in the steriale internet environment?

Socks, Hats, Gloves are low value items and the margins may not be available when you take into acccount the cost of distribution.

Therefore, I'd go with retailling the make-up products of recognised brands - that also eliminate the uncertainty of the buyer in the quality of the product.

Good luck!

why dont u start up your own ebay store? there's loads of ways to sell on there....auction, buy it now (or best offer) and there's ebay express too where you can give a fixed price for your products!! there is always someone on ebayer looking for what you are selling.

I suggest you take a look at the sites already out there that sell these products. Choose the one that has the least sites. No point starting off with a product that is so easy to buy online. Also as it's coming up for christmas the jewellery might be a good idea.

I think that you should tackle the idea from a different angle - why not set up a website that promotes the type of items that you were thinking of making yourself.

They could pay you to put ads on your site & you would not have to worry about making the items. You could even go one stage further and have a directory for people seling the raw materials for products eg beads, material etc.

Doomed to failure. The cost of advertising will eat all of your profits in the first year and beyond. Sell of ebay and grow from there. Remember that Google won't list you in the top 10 for months when you first start the site and it's a battle to get in the top 10-30 and keep there.
But good luck if you go for it.
