I need some EBAY advice with pricing?
I want to sell every CD that I own on Ebay. I have a little over 100 CDs.

I want to see them as cheap as possible so that it will grab the attention of other people.

The problem is I probably need to buy jewel cases for each CD, theres probably a cost to send a CD to someone through the mail(right?), and theres probably a cost to get a tracking number or insurance.

So, how cheap do you I think I could see a CD but still at least make $1 profit per CD?

The buyer pays for shipping prices not you, you just have to find out how much it is going to cost to ship it and post that in your listing so the buyer knows ahead of time how much it costs, the buyer pays for the optional insurance on the package. I don't know what a jewel case is but you don't put a price on ebay listings, people bid on them, you can however put a reserve price on your listing. Also you will have to pay for the listing fee of the item and that may get pretty expensive if you are going to try to sell 100 cd's separately, I would probably put them in a package deal where you only have one listing price and put a reserve price on it, that way if your reserve price is not met you do not have to sell it for the highest bid.

If I were you, I'd look at other cd's for sale on ebay. That will give you a good idea of cost for postage (which is very little-- like $1.50 first class) plus what they are selling for. The cost of shipping is inputted into your sale at the end and is the responsibility of the seller. You could probably sell your CD's for about $2 plus shipping and make out ok.

I really, REALLY doubt you will make that kind of profit on a CD on eBay. You charge a shipping/handling amount for the shipping of it. Look on eBay at CDs to see what kind of money they are getting

getting the attention of the buyer is important, but if you have doubts that your CDs are a great buy that is Easy To Find by the buyers then set the price so that even if you get one bid you don't lose a lot of money.
If I were u (and only you can decide the quality of you collection) I set a Medium quality lot of CDs at a starting price of $74.99 (because of the jewel cases and stuff I think this is a reasonnable starting price).
Lotsa lock dude!

sell them together as a collection and put into 1 box for shipment

You can expect to pay about $2.00 per package for media mail with the US Post Office (the cheapest way to ship CDs).

You can send several CDs for that price though, so your AD should encourage bidding on multiple CDs.

You could also offer a discount on CDs without the jewel case, or offer to throw in a brand new case for an extra 50 cents.

Make sure your CDs are real though and not copies. That will get you in trouble with Ebay real quick.

As long as your CDs are in good shape and are titles people want, you can expect to get (including shipping fees) about $5.00/disc

Can't you just buy some really cheap jewel cases on ebay and use them??? If it is under 2 centimetres thick, it still counts as a letter so cheap.

Don't buy the jewel cases ...use old ones you already have or buy them cheaply at yard sales and such...I always sell lots of them cheap ...I never sold anything on ebay yet..but heard to always remember to add shipping and handling along with the price...that way you won't lose money...GOOD LUCK!

look up identical Cd's on eBay and see what they are going for, also see how much they are charging for shipping. you will have to state if any of the cds are scratched and if they skip.

you set the price for shipping and insurance and they have to pay you that. Now as far as the pricing for the cd's it depends on how much you are wanting to make. If you set it too low you may not get what you want, but you can also set a "buyit now". sometimes selling more than one cd in an auction will do better because the shipping comes out cheaper on the buyer. Hope this helped a little.

I guess it depends on the popularity of the cd. It will cost you less than 2.00 to ship a cd first class mail, and tracking is approx 60 cents if you go to the post office but only like .18 cents if you do it on the paypal website. The buyer pays shipping, tracking, insurance.
