Send them a certified letter stating that they need to pay up or you are going to take them to small claims court. Document the phone calls that you have made also in the letter. |

Consult an attorney. It's called theft of services. From what you have said they never intended to pay at all. Small claims court will take care of it. Remember to have all the paperwork in hand when you walk in that way there's no question about what really happened. Next time get a deposit up front to cut your losses. |

Small Claims Court is the only way your going to get your money .....If you keep the dogie locked up , your still losing money every day that your feeding the little guy. Maybe the person has a unexpected expense come up. Try dealing with him on a payment schedule . If that doesn't work the court system will see that you tried your best to work with the owner and judge in your favor |

Hiring a lawyer for minor legal problems can be expensive, but there are websites like LawGuru, FindLaw and other places where you can get free legal advice. I found this website useful - http://www.uelp.org/freelegal.html |

your doggy daycare costs $600 per week?
I wouldn't want to pay that either.
That guy is a jerk for doing that to you but it was definitely planned ahead of time.
In the future, make sure your customers are paid before they can pick up their dogs, no exceptions.
Generally people are honest but if you let yourself be taken advantage of, someone will take advantage of you.
No money= the dog doesn't leave. |

I would look online for a collection agency, and get them after them, you may even be able to get the police involved. Below I have a link to a certified collection agency and they have information about when to hire a collection agency & what to do. I think collection agencies usually charge about 15% of the collected money, which would be $90 on $600. Not too bad. It's better than nothing I suppose. |

From now on get a credit card or they pay in advance. As for these guys, do a reverse look up on the phone if you have another phone that is not the cell. Look up their name, address in whitepages.com.
Call nearby vets, and have them recommend a collection agency, and turn them over to collections. That's about all I know to tell you to do. |

do you have something to prove that there dog was ever there in the first place? without that, you probably won't ever get your money...if you do, then take them to small claims court for the amount owed...
in the future, i would suggest having all of your clients sign a contract that say you will keep the animal if they do not pay you. you also may want your clients to pay at the time they drop off their animal instead of at pick up |

You can report them. You can file a claim w/ small claimes court. Do can send them a bill.
Have they been there before? Do you think they'll be back? I would send a certified bill to them. They have to sign it and you get proof that they recieved it. If they still fail to pay, you can send another certified letter stating you'll take them to court if they don't pay within so many days. |

$100 a day, dang, must be a luxury resort for dogs.
You can't really do anything if you don't have physical proof that they actually had there dog there.
So what you need to do is send them a bill. Then notify them that you'll be turning it over to a collection agency.
You can then put a stipulation inside the bill that if the bill isn't paid within 30days, there will be a penalty. As long as you disclose it then you should be fine. But you have to give them written acknowledgement that they owe you money.
Then you can turn them in.
But it is going to be a lot of work for $600. |

You need a social security number to report them to the credit bureau (I'm pretty sure).
Sorry, it sounds like this is a loss. It happens with business. Just use it as a learning experience. |

your best bet is to call the police.
i think you are going to have a hard time getting your money from them. |

Send them two certified mail letters. Record your attempts to reach them and voice mails. Then, go to court to claim your money. DO NOT try to get more than you are owed. |
