I own a large plot of land and I was wondering how I go about starting up my own pet graveyard business??
My land has a kenneling/cattery business and various small outbuildings. I would like to start a graveyard in my large field where I keep three ponies. The ponies are in the process of being sold which leaves a beautiful area of land free. The idea came from a customer to my boarding business who said they know many people who would like to bury their pets in a peaceful place away from the road and where only other dogs/cats/animal loving people will be. I don't know how to begin researching it though. Any ideas???
I would check with the local council are they are regulations about animals, etc They may have to give you a licence, maybe talk to people who are already in the business?

You will definately have to approach your local council for this.
They will probably tell you that the corpses of the animals must be contained in a coffin of sorts because it would be illegal to bury so many animals` bodies without a coffin of some sort because the decomposing of uncoffined bodies may affect the water table.
Good luck.

I would say you first point of contact would be your local council.

Your best bet is to go to your city hall. They will let you know if you can start this business or not, and what the exact requirements are.

After gaining the necessary permission you will need a small and a large garden spade for the smaller pets ranging from pet mice to pit -bulls etc., and a JCB for the larger ones like horses.,

I would first work out how many plots you could store on your land and for how long. Then you would find out if it could be profitable or not.

contact your local council as although you already own that land you have to ask permission to use it as a grave yard and if they say you cant then its tough you have to listen to them or they will take you to court if you just go ahead and do it anyway
