I once heard that for every 100 fliers you distribute, only 3-6 of them will even get read. The numbers all but disappear when your talking how many out of 100 actually respond.
Save your money- get a newspaper ad, anything but fliers. They simply are not effective.

10 years ago I started a handyman business. I grew it by passing out hundreds and hundreds of flyers all over town. They say for every 1000 flyers (ads) you should receive 1 to 3% return. I did much better, but your results will vary. Now, I am a general contractor and use the news paper for my primary advertising. |

Depends. If you live in a city of any size, you will get approximately 1 response per 1000 fliers. There are studies that support this.
But if you live in a small town or rural area, if you have a unique or in-demand service and an attractive flier, you may get a much better response. |

It depends. Most of the time, you can get a targeted response rate of about 1 out of 2000 flyers that you send out. Sending out flyers is just one way to get exposure. You can try other ways to get business in your door such as giving out free samples or do a local school student card membership where you can get local students to come into your store. |

It's not about the NUMBER of flyers. No point in distributing millions of flyers in a Muslim community about your new Chinese restaurant - no one will come! I don't believe there is a definite number for distribution before an answer. It has got to do with IDENTIFYING your target consumers/audience and distributing them correctly. There must also be something that the receivers can be attracted to - eye catching flyer, discount upon presenattion of flyer etc. Good luck! |

i have done this with my remodeling business and i find that for every 1000 that i pass out i get about 6 calls and one definite deal. now i do a little research to see what areas of town would benefit from the type of work i do. sometimes it will take up to two weeks before i get calls. but in my type of work if i get one deal for every 1000 i have passed out it is well worth it. good luck! |

That depends on whether you're distributing your fliers to the type of people who would patronize your business. Don't expect it to be instantaneous; you'll probably have to give it a couple weeks. |

It doesn't matter how many if you are giving them to the wrong people. What you have to do is find your target market and advertise for them, to them. Depending on what it is you do, that will tell you which is best place to advertise. I work in advertising and when working with a client, I always find out who it is they are selling to and target the marketing strategy towards them in a way that suits them. There are ways of finding new customers too but you should firstly sell to the people who need you. There is no point advertising dresses in a car magazine for eg. |
