It sounds like she is trying to con you on ebay honestly. Most people try to do that so they can try to get their items cheap. And if they don't get them in the time they want it at, they try to use that as an excuse to get another item free while they have the other item.
the rule of e-bay is, if the feedback is private they are lying. And if she was so poor she wouldn't have so much feedback in a month.
The best thing I could state for you to tell her that since she did decide on a cheaper mailing service, that it takes longer for the mail to arrive at her place. And that if she did not pay for any insurance, then it's not your responsibility if the item has not reached her door yet.
If you look around there are many sellers that put in their auctions now that if the buyer does not pay for insurance for their purchase (which i recommend you have the option for that from now on), that they are not liable for the item not being delievered.
If you are unsure about the insurance, basically it can mean a couple of things. Like if the item is lost in the mail you'll send them another of the item. Or the post office will pay back the money for the value of the item lost. But it is only valid if they pay for the insurance.
Since she has put a dispute against you, you can basically put in the dispute that she requested for cheaper shipping, and show them the note or the e-mail that she requested it and that you said it was okay. And show them what she paid for. This will keep you covered. |

You're only covered for £27. Go to the Royal mail and report it as a non delivery then She will have to declare it as such on the form they send. It's likely she will not go through with it. In future ALWAYS send anything recorded and this is to cover YOU not the buyer. Treat everyone as a potential con artist it's sad but necessary |

i highly doubt a disabled, poor, 65 year old woman would be capable of using the internet lol
Its more than likely a scammer
report the stupid ***** to ebay |

This sounds like a scam.Because you have no proof whether she has received it or not there may not be Alto you can do other than put in a unpaid item dispute against her and allow ebay to investigate. The only future advice i can give you is send everything by recorded delivery 2nd class as it is cheaper but then this cannot happen again. |

If you sent it second class you can not claim anything back, recorded delivery you can claim up to £34 back and special delivery items up to £500 i think. She is trying it on, i bet she got the goods and is trying to con you. Tell her it is her own fault the item didnt get there because she wanted the item sending second class, you get what you pay for. |

did she pay for shipping insurance if she didn't you dont have to refund her and do you have a tracking number to check if the item has been delivered |

You should have got proof of posting from the Post Office.
I would say something like " oh I've had real problems with my local Post Office. So have my friends. I am going to report this to the police". If she is scamming you, she might go quiet or close the dispute when you mention the police. You never know. but you should have got proof of posting, just in case of situations like this..
v197: that's not how ebay works. whether the buyer pays for insurance or not, the seller is responsible for getting the goods to the buyer. |

I have had a similar problem in the past. You are being conned.
The first thing I noticed is apparently she told you "She got her money straight back from Royal Mail." WRONG.
I have tried twice to claim from Royal mail and you have to wait 15 days, then send off a form with proof of value, At this point they write to the recipient. The recipient must sign a declaration form, that confirms they never received the item. If they don't do that, you never see a penny.
I would try and report it to Ebay and send them copies of your emails.
My advice to you is anything you sell, send it tracked as if you don't Ebay and Paypal do not protect you. Like you I found out the hard way.
Ebay and Paypal should be working more closely with Royal Mail on issues like this.

This is a mess. There are probably fraudulent buyers and sellers out there trying to pull a fast one, even if only on occasion like when the rent is due. eBay has to protect both innocent buyers and sellers, which is impossible, so I think they do the best job but unfortunately for you, I think they tend to favor the buyer's word that they did not receive the item over your word that you sent the item. You have a very small argument in that you have a claim against her honesty because she said she is poor, yet has bought a lot of stuff on eBay. Then you suspect she could be pulling similar stunts on others, but have no proof. You also seem to feel she changed her innocent card, but perhaps that could be better worded that she claimed nothing was ever lost then later said she received multiple refunds from other items she reported lost. She helped that she says you can get your money back from the USPS, but I thought that was just when you insure the package. If you did not insure it, you should use that against her because she gave you specific instructions to ship that saved her money but apparently would not insure the package.
So you should file a claim on eBay against her and ask them to use in their investigation:
1. that she requested a change in shipping that would not include insurance,
2. she claimed she always received her other items yet has made multiple refund requests for lost items (so she either lied to you the first time or she lied to the sellers because nothing was ever lost),
3. they can see her heavy monthly purchasing and thus question her honesty in the statement that she is poor and thus deserves a refund out of charity,
4. if she is the poor feeble person she claims to be with multiple lost item requests, then perhaps she is not purposefully lying but is forgetful and a forgetful person with her monthly eBay volume would tend to lose track of items she has received,
and so eBay should look for a pattern because all these points make her claim very suspicious. |

Its a con to take your item and get her money back. If you have the postage slip from the Post Office - then no worries. |

I think you are right. You should definitely report her to eBay. Keep all of your emails and forward them to eBay as well. Especially the one where she asked you to send it "2nd class". |

I think she may be conning you, report her. |

You should've got a receipt when you sent it, from the post office, if you did then tell her you have proof you sent it, does she have proof she didn't receive it? |
