go for the internet business which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge (This is what i called 50-50 commitment!). Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. Third, choose the business, which does not require big money to start it.

Honestly, I tried so many opportunities offered through the internet and this is the only one that really works. Another one advantage of being in the internet business is you can get rid from the Income Tax.

Do you have a lot of money?

That's an idealistic perspective and the way it should be. However, sometimes a lot of people that think they need to go into business with a partner are better off by themselves. The creative differences with money get in the way. Also, if both partners are inexperienced, it can lead to bad blood.

If you have your own business idea, you should set it up yourself and read some books that will teach you how to set up your business. You'll have more independent control.

If you have the financial capital but no idea as to what product or service you want to sell, then you're taking on the role of the investor. As an investor, you do control the purse strings, but you may run into difficulty if the person supplying the idea wants to come in using his Intellectual Property as an asset in lieu of money.

Also, the other problem with 50-50 relationships is being able to quantify what is fair or equal work. If you're splitting up the responsibilities, it's difficult for people to compare apples and oranges. If you're both new to the business, you could run into strife justifying who's putting in more work.

The other thing you have to be careful of is if you go into a business partnership with someone who is more experienced than you. They may take on a dominant role and as you evolve with the business, you switch from submissive to dominant leading to disagreement.

The reverse is true where if you're the one who's dominant and you take on a submissive partner that complements you at that time, the submissive partner may "outgrow" you and start having their own ideas.

Once again, we come back to why it's better to just go into business for yourself. If you have an idea (even if it's half-baked), you're better off just outsourcing whatever jobs or tasks aren't in your field of expertise. That way, you just pay people for their time and there are no strings attached. The business remains solely in your control.

Once you decide a business, you'll want to set up your DBA accounts as well as apply for a Business Credit Card as soon as possible so that it's all set up.

Depending on what region you're in, Internet Businesses that provide a service are nice. It all depends on what you're looking to do.
