I am a mother of 4 and I want to work from home or have my own business.But there are lots of people that want to scam u and ask for lots of money.I statred to work when I was 14 and have always worked but I have been with out a job for a year in a half do to health issues but the way the economy is going is no enough with only my husbans pay check.I need sothing that I could do from home for at least 6 hours a day and I do not have to speand 600 dollars or more to do it and that I also see results at least in week.I know this sounds inpossible but I know someone knows of something please help......... |

I have to agree with a lot of the posters on this topic. As a business owner myself, and many people that I know (family and friends), non of which got a business for free. Well, except my cousin who inherited it from my uncle when he passed away. Other than inheriting a business and not have to pay for it, there is no way. All businesses cost money to start up and time to build it. If your not willing to do this, then you will not be able to start up a home based business or have a successful one. Most home based businesses do not take 600 or more to start up. Most take under $500. You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business without all the over head expenses. Again, they all take time to build highly successful business and to cost money to invest. But it takes money to make money. At least with a home based business, the investment is nothing compared to a traditional business in which cost anywhere from 50 thousand and on up to in the millions to get started. Depending on what type of business you start up. At least with home based businesses, your over head costs are pretty much cut out. You have no building to rent or lease or buy, utilities for that, inventory to buy and stock, workers compensation, insurance policy (which cost up the ying yang) employees to pay wages to and yadda yadda yadda.
Home based businesses, if you have electricity, heating, computer, phone, your pretty much set for business. Things that you use every day all become tax write off's.
As far as something you can see results in a week. That has nothing to do with any business model, company or anything. The results of income in a week, will only come with what you do, how you build your business. If you want good results in a week, then you better be ready to put the time and effort needed to make that happen, or it won't.
I know a lot of poeple who make an incredible living in their home based businesses. Anywhere from a profit margine from 20,000 and on up to higher end income money makers. They put the time, effort and investment that was needed to have a very successful business. If they did not do this, then they would of become the lower income range of people. That's just the facts of life. It takes money to make any "real" money. If your not willing to do that, and look at building a business as a hobbie, you won't succeed and you won't make a sufficient amount of money. You better go look for a day job and still have to put the same amount of time in order to receive your weekly pay checks. Nothing near the income opportunity that you have when going into business. |

The only sort of business I can think of that would be like you're describing would be something like a lemonade stand. In other words, you're not going to be talking about a business to make a lot of profit from, much less to live off of.
Any worthwhile home business venture will require a great deal of time to set up, and will frequently use a lot of money as starting capital as well. Also, if you can't think of something yourself that you're excited and passionate about doing as a home business, then there's probably not much you will be able to motivate yourself to see succeed. |

Alright- starting any business, especially one from your home - because of the additional effort required to seek out resources and market yourself - takes a significant amount of effort and, yes, money. If eligible, you could qualify for a number of small business loans or grants - but there is going to be effort required even in getting those.
As far as how much time it would take to get your business from start-up to profit? Well that's every business owner's quandry. Really depends on the type of business you're going into, its marketability, and possibly most importantly, the amount of elbow grease you're willing to put in to devote yourself to making that baby run, even if it means sacrificing paychecks and free time.
Building something of your own from the ground up is a great thing, and absolutely possible, but you HAVE to be willing to shell out the time and resources to fuel it! You have to do it for the love of doing it, rather than as a hope for a quick way to make a buck. Just doesn't work that way!!

It depends on what you want to do...what type of business you are intending to go into.
There is always ebay--but with the rate increases on ebay and the rate increases with the post office, that home business is getting more and more difficult to turn a decent profit.
There are many other home based businesses, but you will need to research and find out what it is that you are good at and like to do. Remember you can always advertise for free on Craigslist.

If your state has such a program (as Ohio does), you may be able to jump several places in line when it comes to doing business with your state government. |

selling things on ebay is probably your best bet. start out by selling things in your home that are in good shape and use the profits to buy merchandise. you could research drop shippers on the net, but you usually have to pay a membership fee. If you have a flair for fashion i would suggest selling vintage clothing. Go to your local thrift stores and sift through the racks, you should be able to come up with something. |
