Since you've never been in business before, I would strongly recommend that you talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. You have to determine whether you'll start a web based business or one with a store front. I'd call the local office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE.
The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting your small business and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market ) and how you'll go after them.
You'll need to register the business with your state controller's office and make sure that you have any city and county licenses if any are needed where you live. All of this will come out in a business plan.
Try this link :

If you're thinking about an online business/website, I can point you in the right direction!
I have a thriving, profitable website that I started building only 4 months ago. It's designed especially for new puppy owners, to help them raise happy, healthy puppies.
You could do something similar with any of the suggestions you made. You don't need any technical knowledge or web skills as the company I use provides absolutely everything you need to be successful. You just need to bring the ideas and the work ethic.
Not a get rich quick scheme, no gimmicks. Just a real opportunity to earn money doing something you enjoy. Check out my webpage below to read my story, and take a look at the site. It may give you even more ideas.
Best of luck! |

Write a business plan. Figure out if your idea has the market potential and can charge enough for your service to make money. If the numbers don't add up then keep working on it until it does. |

If you can, buy an existing business. Sometimes you can get real creative with a seller with terms and down payment but an existing business usually has figured out what works and what doesn't. There are several doggie daycares on the market. I am not sure about the photography end but with a little searching I bet you can find one for sale.
A business plan is a great idea but keep it simple or you will grow frustrated very quickly. |
