I want to start my own business and trying to get ideas on what to do!?
Well I just moved back to Wisconsin after living in Idaho for a year and half. My boyfriend lost his job and has a new job here that is a 20000 cut. I have not found a job here but I do have an interview thursday which hopefully I get but I would love to do my own business on the side to make extra money. We have a 6 month old and lots of bills, and we used to be able to afford it but now its like my bfs whole paychecks for the month is going to bills. So we NEED extra money. I have thought about doing avon, but not sure if it would make that much extra money for me. Then I have thought about maybe doing some party planning on the side, say for kids birthdays or whatever, I watch the wedding shows and love watching the planners and watching what they do! I would love to do that someday but not right away What do I do to start this party planning if I have never done it before and how much would I charge?. However I am going to school for nursing because I have a passion to be a nurse. So its kind of all different things but they are all things that interest me! I guess I just love working with people and helping them. Another idea I had was watching kids, but then you have to have a license and go through all that stuff, PLUS I am living with my dad and his fiance until we can get our own place and couldnt do this at their home. Another idea I have thought of was cleaning houses, I used to go with my Aunt all the time while she cleaned houses, and I think I would be able to do it. I just dont know how to get that started and how much to charge.

Which idea do you think would be the best to go about, or do you have any other ideas for me that you think I may like? Please give me your advice with any of these choices!

When you join Avon it is your business so you do what you choose to do with it as you please.

Personally for me it has been worth while. I am able to make $250 every 2 weeks in addition to my full time income.

Not sure if you are aware but now you can sign up to become a representative online plus it is only $20 to get started and you could sign up now online. Plus, with all the support that is available out there you should be able to make a great income.

If you do happen to be interested and are ready to get started just go to my website and click my name so that I could email you online application website information.

Hope that helped answer your question!

Hi,
Just to let you know about the work at home job I do, which is I help people save money (on health benefits), or make money (signing people up to work for the company), and there is no cold calling. The company is 15 years old and has good pay. If you would like more info feel free to contact me or go to www.freedomathometeam.com/jsartell.
Good Luck on the decision you chose!

There are many ways to make money online. The best way is to start your own online business selling products or services.

Focus on what interest you the most and then check and see if there is a market for it.

Hope this helps,

The economy is so iffy nowadays and it's important to recession proof your income. Starting your own business is definitely a good idea, if just for the tax breaks you get each year. Check out this website to give you an idea of something easy you can do. Also, don't get into anything where you have to buy and stock inventory. Been there, done that (Avon, Herbalife) and it was such a waste.

Have you ever considered Mary Kay? I Started my business 4 years ago. I started it simply for the product discount and found it to be so much more. I love everything about it. They train you on who, when where etc. The support system is amazing and it fits any schedule. When I had my youngest I would hold appointments in my home while she slept. The holiday are coming so sales will come just because people shop this time of year.
Mary KAy Ash started her company to give women opportunities and her whole philosophy of enriches women's lives extends to her Charitable Foundation that supports research for cancers that affect women and ending domestic violence.
Of course the point of a business is to make money but if you can make people feel good at the same time all the better.
You can get more information on the website http://www.marykay.com/sdoshi/sellmarykay/default.aspx

Hi, I'm a single mom with a 2year old and a mortgage. I got laid off from my job after 8 years and haven't been able to find a new job. What I really want to do is stay home with daughter so I've chosen to start business(es) for myself, just like you are thinking of doing. There are a TON of possible opportunities, some great, a lot of ripoffs. I can tell you what I did but only you will know which ones speak to your heart and feel good to you.

1. Beachbody - I'm an online fitness coach for the company that makes extremely popular fitness programs on dvd, sells them on tv infomercials (ever seen P90X, TurboJam,SlimIn6,HipHopAbs or Yoga Booty Ballet?), and then assigns all those customers (15,000-30,000 per week) to a virtual fitness coach. That's me. They actually give me customers in my business for me to support and encourage customers who have already purchased product. I do not have to push product and I carry no inventory if I don't want to. I don't. I do however workout with some of their programs because I want to get healthy too and they are great. I have a presentation for the opportunity that explains it if you want to see it, send me a message. Beachbody has a few terrific programs coming out this month so it's a great time to join and try to catch that wave of new customers and coaches that will be coming with the new infomercials.

2. Avon. You mentioned this one. You don't have to buy stuff and you don't have to carry inventory. You don't have to do parties and you don't have to go door knocking. UNLESS YOU WANT TO. They have great websites now for the consultants and you could do everything online, product is shipped directly to the customer, you don't have to deal with any of it. I think you might be missing out on some business by doing it this way, but that's each consultant's choice how to run his/her business. Again, get in touch with me if you're curious. No obligation and I'm not a spammer. I hate spam.I love Avon, I've been a customer for years and I loved it when I was a kid and my grandma let me play dress up with her makeup samples.

3. Spa Girl Parties. Ok, this is a party plan where the most successful consultants actually do spa parties for friends/family/customers. What, how, when etc is all up to you. Personally, I'm not a big fan of parties. I'm a single parent who doesn't have a babysitter for my little one. This one also has great looking webstores for consultants. Customers can shop online, pay for their orders online and everything is shipped directly to them. These are luxurious but affordable spa quality products, 95-100% natural ingredients that are mixed when you order it. About as close as you can get to mixing it up yourself and keeping it in the fridge. Very healthy for your skin and your body won't be absorbing crazy chemicals that you can't even pronounce. I will do some parties for friends and family, warm foot soaks, peppermint lotion, really scrumptious products, but not many :) Spa Girl Parties is a fairly new company so consultants starting now, there are very few of them in my area so I know we are not "saturated".

Each of these three had a small (< $40) up front cost plus $10-$15 per month. I know exactly what I have to do to at least cover my costs. Everything else is profit and I love it. I manage everything online during naptime and after bedtime. I'm careful about what I buy and I do not carry inventory. It's just not what I want to do and I have that flexibility with these.

Anyway, these are three ideas that work for me. I'd be happy to provide more information or give you the websites so you could take a look. I also can give you some good resources for a place to surf and check out a lot of opportunities that I wouldn't be qualified to explain because I don't know them that well.

Ones I would not do are companies who charge too much to join. An example, Herbalife for something like $395 and then you are required to buy stuff. You know how much I'm going to have to sell just to make back my initial investment? I'm all about return on investment. Look at the plans, read their policy manual and compensation plan ahead of time, CHOOSE your upline or sponsor. Find someone you at least think you could like and work well with, someone who is motivated and shares goals and energy for the products. A good team will help you succeed too.

and it sounds cliche by now, but find something you love then see if there's a way to profit from it. Google it, see who's doing it, how, where, are they making any real money from it? Be ruthless in your research before you sign up.

Best of luck. It's a wild world. :)

Michelle
