u will need to check with zoning, and the city council, check on licensing regulations... all that first. u might need a license as well. start at the city. |

Phew, darling the problem is that all the advise you need comes from different sources. It used to be so much easier to start a business before these stupid socialists came to power. Now there is so much red tape and so many aspects to consider.
The only way you can get all this info is if you are starting a big business with a lot of capital and can consult a good lawyer and accountant. If you can't then go to your local council and tell them what you want to do. They will advise health and safety issues etc and also have lots of leaflets with info for you.
If you have premises, then the fire brigade need to inspect to make sure you comply with fire regs. etc etc etc. It goes on and on.
Best thing to do is not get to involved in these things if you are going to work on your own to start with. Just get started.
If you grow and start making some money, and want to employ people, (A whole different thing then, really.) then you can invest some of the money you made into taking advice.
I haven't even mentioned VAT registration yet, the threshold if you need it. Apart from the Inland Revenue and tax returns if you can't afford an accountant.
Anyway, good luck darling and I hope all the supporters and voters of New Labour are real proud of themselves for what their govt has done for free enterprise and job generation.
But go for it. Why not, others do. Except they don't worry about complying with regulations and legislation and EU regulation and legislations, which very often is the complete oposite of UK regulation and legislation. So if you comply with EU law, you break UK law.
And if you don't comply and something goes wrong, that's when you pay. But do what the rest do, take a chance. That's how it is now in business because of Blair and Brown. If you want to go into business, just take a chance. Kisses |
