The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll, Rick Broadhead
* The Complete E-Commerce Book: Design, Build, and Maintain a Successful Web-Based Business by Janice Reynolds
* Intelligent Selling: The Art & Science of Selling Online by Ken Burke
* E-Commerce for Dummies by Don Jones

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

well you could set up a website. Or use amazon!

Craigslist or Etsy.com (etsy is for artsy specifically)

just trying to make a difference
hi, why not set up a free website with Microsoft's new office live programme? it's easy to use and i did it with no web design experience. what's more the domain name won't cost you anything and you get free hosting, plus email addresses are included. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/officelive/FX101534261033.aspx
you may also want to consider a short course in business planning, you can study this from home with excellent support and will cover issues like researching the market, advertising and marketing, and e-commerce http://rebecca-swift.co.uk/courses.aspx

The best way is obviously to build your own web site. I took my holiday rentals business online 3 years ago using SiteBuildIt! and it really has gone from strength to strength.

They are a great company because aside from helping you to build a good web site they give you loads of help and support especially in relation to getting that all important first page listing at the search engines.
I would definitley recommend them over and above a free site because after all, " you get what you pay for" in this life and if you are serious about making a presence on the net then you need to start with firm foundations.

Have a look at their introdution here:-

and also if you are interested you could read about my own experiences of going online with them:-http://www.costadelsol-vacationrentals.com/build-your-own-web-site.html

go to http://www.mydubli.com/4769 it is free to list items and you get worldwide exposure. A small fee has to be paid when the item actually has been successfully sold.

Have a great day.
