I would caution you about SMC. They sell little trinkets for prices close to retail leaving you with little profit. Don't waste your time or money unless you do the research and find out how well their items would sell retail.

A home based business is like any other business, except that you WORK at home. Often 60+ hours a week. There are no get rich quick schemes out there. If you want the business to succeed you need to be honest with yourself about the work required.

If you want to sell things through the web, you might want to take a look at Ebay. They publish a list of items each month that people want to buy along with Ebay Pulse which is a weekly update of what is in demand with buyers.

You might also check out www.bmyers.com, which is the website of an Internet marketing fellow, Bill Myers. Bill dispenses advice for people looking to develop a home based internet business.

There are a lot buisnessess that can be done from home. There are a lot of advantages, but you must be choosy of what you want to do. Un like working elsewhere you must be more careful while doing a home based buisness. Reason is that that is the place you will be residing and any small problem could spoil your happiness. The advantage is the freedom of working and you have long hours that you can spend while on a home based buisness.
What ever buisness you do, just make sure that most money should be invested by you and not your investors (that is a very safe option)
My suggession why don't you try doing forex trading? There are a lot of advantages. You tend not to hold any postions for long. After careful study only do u take a postition( you have a lot of time any way)
if you need any hits and tips you may mail me

Hello,

I've been working 15-25 hours/week for 6 years now from home. I work around my kids as well. Some pros are that I make my own hours, don't spend money on daycare, get to see my kids grow up and I don't have to be gone all day (or at night) and I can wear whatever I want while I work.

No gas money spent on driving to work either. It always seems when I talk to people who are doing well financially, they are involved in working their own home business or something they started as entrepreneurs. I once heard somewhere that the people who are in the top percentage of income earners in the U.S. are almost all doing something that is self biz, home based, owner based for them.

So I firmly believe that you can make more money with your own business as well as experience all those pros I mentioned above. I also LOVE what I do. And most people can't say that about a job. Jobs also have office politics, you have to worry about sick leave, vacation timing etc. Job security is also an issue for alot of people. I don't deal with any of that in my own home business.

It also helps to make sure that if you do something home based it has the potential to have rock solid and reliable income. I enjoy the fact that I do not have to sell, stock, deliver, do parties, etc. but I experience all the fun and team work, comaraderie, friendship etc that the party industry does. I like what they have to offer - they really recognize success, great trips, prizes, and they get paid great for shows too. Some fun people there.

For me though I don't like having to leave the house, set up booths, displays, keep inventory, etc. (bad back, small children at home too) So, being able to experience all the fun stuff, celebrations, prizes, team work and even take several months off at a time and still get full checks is what really makes it (working for myself at home) a rock solid choice for me.

The cons? Well, I'd say making sure you remember to take your taxes out would be one thing. But even then if you remember to do that right, you'll be fine.

Another con for people who are not self disciplined or for whom a positive outlook is foreign: If you can't keep yourself plugged in to your business, keep your passion for what you do at the front of your mind, and always ALWAYS have a positive outlook - you won't last long. Being self employed is not a "big easy" it is definitely hard work and there are some personal sacrifices involved. But the reward is definitely worth it.

I hope this helps. And, yes, I am always looking for someone I can mentor, strategize with and coach on his or her way to their financial goals. I have an internet catalog business that does not require selling products or delivering things - can be done strictly online. I work with a fun team - we are always laughing and hanging out - its just via phone and internet. I am always willing to interview a person and see if he or she has the passion to do this as well. Remember, if you don't believe in what you are doing - no matter what business it is - you won't succeed. So, belief and credibility are key points.

When looking to partner up with any company to work a business from home be sure to do your homework. There are alot of scams out there and alot of companies who mean well but WILL be going under very soon. The IRS has stats that show most business go under in their first five years. It makes no sense for you to put your hard work into something only to have the company you work with go under and leave you high and dry.

Things to look for:
*Minimum 10 years in business
*Company track record (at least 250,000 gross for three years straight
*company awards and recognition
*Memberships (like BBB, US Chamber, etc.)
*Credit Rating with Dunn & Bradstreet
*Reorder rate (make sure market is good and reorder rate is documented)
*published and audited income stats

I work for a 22+ year old US Chamber of Commerce member company that has awards from Inc. Magazine, BBB Hall of Fame, Boy Scouts of America and more. They have an A-1 credit rating, a documented 95% month to month reorder rate and they publish their income stats. They grossed nearly three quarter billion last year.

That's the kind of stats and track record you want to be on the look out for.

All the best and I hope this helped,
Krissy

Hi,
I have done 4 homebased businesses, or direct sales businesses, and the one I am currently doing is Premier Designs jewelry. Over the past 20 years, I have previously done another jewelry line, a cooking line, a clothing line and now Premier. I am happy with Premier. It is a generous company based on Biblical principals, offers alot of support, and has the best marketing plan of any company I know out there. As far as running your own business, I love that part, but it is a business and requires discipline and some hustle if you want to work. I know nothing about homebased businesses except for direct sales businesses but I think I can speak with some intelligence about ds.Do you have a question I can help you with?

people who are answering this type of question will in the risk of having their answer deleted by others. i'm not sure whether our negative feedback on our reviews of internet opportunity is against TOS of yahoo answer. whenever truth wants to come out it will be stopped. well what can you say. that is what internet marketing all about. they will hurt you if you hurt their biz. let them run their biz whether it is good or bad. i do mine you do yours that type of mentality. bad or good is not important. maybe this comment will be deleted too. go figure.

I have a home base business that I am finding not only fun but lucrative as well. It all started when my sister gave me this amazing lollipop that helps you loose weight and have energy. Ok, she had me at lollipop. I was BLOWN away by the results and asked her about getting in touch with this comany so that I could sell their products. I did my research and finally made my decision and took a leap of faith. What an amzing company that has intergrity, supports their sales people and is available and accessible to their team and is happy to do so. Ask questions do your research. If you are driven and believe in what you are selling you can be a true success. What have you got to loose?
Go to www.candy4diet.com to view the business plan and see the products. This company is a few years old and the market is not saturated with sales people so now is a great time to join. Try some of the products and see what you think. Look at the business plan and see how different this opportunity is. There has been a lot of buzz around these magical lollipops lately and the momentum is building.
www.candy4diet.com I would love the opportunity to answer any questions you have. Best wishes.

Self motivating individuals looking to make their own hours and looking for financial freedom decide how much they want to put into their business. It will still take hard work and dedication like any other profession.

Change Your Life
I think I work for the best home based business. It's new, so a lot of people don't know about it.

It is 100% free and totally different. It's legitimate and not like anything else around. There is nothing to sell, no meetings, and all the tools are free. It's an honest company with good morals and we are trying to help everyone who wants to work at home and make some extra money. Again it's free so you have nothing to lose.

It is possible to work for an honest company, at home with no cost. No matter what people may say. Let me know if you want more info.

I sell Gourmet Soy candles and body products, I chose the retail end of the business but I know a lot of people who do very well with fund-raising and home parties. I like it because I can choose the hours I want to work and the days too.
