I am interested in starting a home business from scratch. I have authored a poetry book (melissathomasgarcia.com), I have (in the past) made children's photo albums and sold a few. I also have years of customer service experience and I homeschool my 5 year old son. With the above information, could anyone give any ideas that would make a good homebusiness for me. I don't have a lot of money to get started. |

I hear what you're saying about not leaving links but what good is an idea if you don't have any business in place out there to help you to get it off the ground and out to potential clients as I am assuming you want to make some money off of your idea.. otherwise what is the point... The most legitimate thing I have seen online is what I'll propose but again it's not as if I want to leave some unwanted link but I don't see how you're going to go anywhere with limited capital if you don't start somewhere... hope this helps. http://ownit.workathomewithsbi.com - you've already got the idea.. all you need is the rest and largely that is a support system of people that wanted to do what you do and the right tools. |

I am a stay at home mom and can relate to your desire to start your own home business using your own ideas and skills. I don't have a lot of money to sink into a new business either. My dream is to make and sell purses.
In the meantime, to make some money to start that business I have been selling Pampered Chef kitchen tools. I have been making pretty decent money (about $100 a show) and last month I made about $1000 and only left my 11 month old son for about 12 hours total to go to the home shows. You can do several ventures. You can create a 'how-to' website. 'How-to' websites are very popular. Your site can teach someone how to create a children's photo album and/or you can offer your services to create the album for them.
You can also create a website as a consultant for improving a business's customer service.
You can create a website on how to successfully homeschool a child. Include a Q&A section. For example my question would be; 'How do you expose your child to learn social skills?' You can make your site an interactive site. By doing this you create 'word of mouth' and then you will be getting businesses that want to by ad space on your site, which brings in additional income.
After you have created your website, go to paydotcom.com. Yes you read it right. This site, for a very small fee, helps you to promote your product. And/or you can become an affiliate and promote another person's product. This works on a commission basis. You must have a paypal account, which is free.
