I did that with my friend for 14 years when my kids were small. We made two flyer's on one sheet of paper and plastered them all over the place. It had a coupon for $5 off the first cleaning. Also ask them to recommend you and give them something off their next cleaning for every new customer that comes from them! We also cleaned a person's house for free, just so she could tell people that we did a good job. We used our own supplies, so we had things we knew worked well. Word will spread by word of mouth quickest, so be sure and be honest and do a very good job. We chose to charge a flat rate, so if we couldn't move as fast or got done faster than normal, it would be the same price to the customer and so we knew how much we would make every week. Call the other cleaning companies to see what they charge, then under bid them. Don't be nice and do anything for free, all it will do is make them expect it next time. Charge extra for cleaning ovens and refrigerators. Don't EVER give a firm price on the phone, it's always worse when you get there than they tell you it is! You'll learn the rest as you go. A small ad in any type of paper, or get one or two accounts from friends, but the thing is that word of mouth is the best for that type of business. |

Make up some pamphletes at home and go letter drop them in your local area see how that goes.. You could always put out an add in the paper aswell. Go into new housing estates they are always looking for cleaners once a house is completed prior to the owners moving in, You could even try your local real estates and clean homes after renters move in or out.. Advertise in your local paper, craigslist and in church bulletins. Also, try to advertise in upscale neighborhoods...those are the people more willing to pay $25 to $30 an hour for house cleaning. Make some business cards and hand them out everywhere you go. |

Well first you have to know your tools and then buy them if not already supplied second you need to know who to talk to so you don't get hurt.always save money if some needs to pick you up so you can call them. or if you have a cell phone call them or if no one is available take a cab with the extra money. |
