Ideas for part-time work for a stay-at-home mom?
I have 3 small kids. I live in Los Angeles.
I have a few qualifications, but I want to keep the free-flow of ideas coming, so I'll hold back on that.
Any thoughts or ideas would be so very appreciated.

There are a lot of different ideas for part time work for a stay at home mom.
There are basically two different ways, and in each way has many different industries to look into. One, without knowing what your qualifications are, or what type of income you need, makes it difficult to know which road to point out. So I'll break it down I guess.
One is apply for a position from a company that offers home based work. There are a few out there. The second way would be to start a home based business. Plenty of industries from child daycare centers, telecommunications etc. Now, there are two different ways right there to work part time from home. Each way I stated has different income ranges. I don't know how much income you need, so let me break it down between the two. A home based job the income is about minimum wage. After taxes are taken out, your looking at take home being less then minimum wage. Now, a home based business gives you the same income opportunity as a traditional business without all the over head expenses. They cost less to start up. In fact, most home based businesses cost under $500. But the income opportunity for yourself is far greater then a home based job, but they do take a little bit of time to build.
If a home based job is sufficient amount of income for you, then there area couple options. Here's an article that talks about home based jobs, with a couple companies that you can look into. If you qualify for the position, and you think it can work around your college schedual then this would be the way to go.

If you think that you will need to be making more then a minimum waged job, then here's another article on home based businesses with several different industries to take a look at

I know a lot of different people all up and down California that work from home either part time or full time. Some work for someone else, and most have their own home based business. Each of these industries I gave you, I know people who have or do work for them, so these are good places to look into. I also know several people who have home based businesses in several different industries. So this other link is a good source to research more on for you.
Good Luck!
Shaun

Most work at home schemes are scams. Before you consider any of them, check out what the Postal Inspection Service has to say about them… http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/radDocs/consumer/wahscams.htm

"If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate."

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.

We might be able to help each other.

I am always looking for people to help me in my home business. If you have email, this will be easy for you.

I pay $250 for every person that successfully replies to the emails you send (written by me).

There is no fee or start up costs involved on your part.
I don't want your money, I just want your time.
It will probably be the easiest money you'll ever make!

If you want to find out more, email me at harmanmyles@gmail.com

The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

Time & effort required - but do your own research on what is best for you, don't take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of public website.

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

I would recommend a home based business. I was a stay at home Mom as well, (Children are grown now) and wanted to be there for them, of course. I tried a few different businesses, but being I had no business background, there was much for me to learn.
I now have 3 businesses, they do well but I had to learn "modern" marketing methods. The old business models aren't that effective anymore. I am now in the process of putting everything together so everything will be on one website. I really think this is the direction to go these days.

I am a titanium powerseller on Ebay to give you a little background so you know I am legit and know what I am talking about. There is a new business opportunity that just started a couple of months ago but has been in the works for over 3 years. It works with Ebay so you know it is legit. Ebay is a multi Billion dollar business and you now have the opportunity to be apart of that. Doesn't cost much like a lot of home businesses only $29 per month. You earn up to $35 per new customer and up to 75% in commissions from Ebay just by giving out Free software. When they use the software your Ebay affiliate ID is embedded in the software and you get the commission - 100% of it. Plus 5 more ways to make money. http://www.mymarketinggenie.com/ultimatepaintball

I see this as being one of the next big home businesses since it is one of the first that uses Ebay. Most home businesses only last a couple of years but with the backing of Ebay I don't see how anyone wouldn't join this opportunity. I am already doing well making more money than the $29 so already in profit. I am a titanium powerseller so I let everyone know about the new free software and then I get paid anytime they buy something from Ebay even if it isn't from me. Here is the free software so you can check it out: http://www.myshoppinggenie.com/ultimatepaintball

Amazon and Overstock have now heard about the MyShoppingGenie and are working on an affiliate program just so they can be apart of this too. Now can you start too see the power, technology, income potential with MyShoppingGenie - Ebay, Amazon, and Overstock does?
