i mean i don't think you can start a business with something not of your interest...
the best thing i would do is figure out what st louis doesn't have/sell.. or thats making big money..
start with a chaining business
oh! and since dunkin donuts is sort of falling, and now starbucks have taken out there food menu's. a bagel factory...
everyone loves some good fresh bagels in the morning or night..
you could sell bagels, bagels w/creamcheese. bagel sandwich..
starbucks,subway, there growing franchise's and then you can branch of with something new |

With your experience you have a wide range of different things you could start up. I see your dilema in figuring out which one you'd like best. Your getting some options from various different people here. So I'll add a few more options to this growing list of yours.
My husband and I started our own home based business about 6 years ago, a little more, in the telecommunications industry. We partnered up with a 15 year old world wide company that offers services that people use every day and pay for anyway. Services that are high in demand and always will be. As you should know with your degree in marketing how important this is to any business. We market in services like local and long distance telephone services, Internet, VOIP, video phones, digital, Satallite T.V. and all the major cellular phone providers have partnered up with us too. How many people do you know that uses one or more of these services? We save people money on the services that they're already using and paying for. Every month they pay their bills, we make a percentage. There is so much money in this industry it's incredible! The company is the worlds largest direct selling telecommunications service provider. Verizon, T-mobile, AT&T, Alltell, Nextell, Disney etc have partnered up with us like I said, so we can offer them their cell phones cheaper then if they were to go into the stores or web sites on their own. We can also upgrade and extend their contracts. Then every month these people pay their cell phone bills, we make a percentage.

Ok this may sound lame, but maybe start something like a dollar store, or because there so heavily populated may a store where you can sell unique gifts. I sell candles am looking for people to join me. I do it from home but you can open a shop and sell it as well. Just a thought. |

You can make knick-knacks... just invent... hand painted bracelets, with matching pairs of earrings, rings and pendants. Any novelty items which I am sure people will love before summer begins. Or bake animal and flower shaped cookies, too.
Or mineral water and even an eatery will do. All you got to do is make a survey in one of the eateries there. Try to see what kind of food and pastries are in demand.
