You can do anything you want! You just need to get a little creative. Entrepreneurs are by nature or by circumstances good at solving problems creatively. There are even ways to begin businesses without any cash of your own.
Low capital businesses typically are those that involve services or sales. You can offer services with little more than a little flyer and a contact number eg. cleaning, teaching, consulting etc.
On the sales side, companies are always looking to increase sales and are desperate for people that can do this well. If you can get your head around initial rejections sales can be and is a rewarding career. Yes, it is often tough in the beginning but with the right training and some persistence few other professions can match the rewards in sales if that is what you are seeking. If you like the idea of being your own boss, MLM opportunities are all over the place and don't require much capital to begin, although you have to be very careful to research any companies you consider joining. Another way to sell products is to represent foreign companies that seek agents in your country. This can be very lucrative, doesn't require a huge capital outlay but you need to do your research.
At the end of the day, you have to sit down and figure out what you want, your main objectives and their respective priorities.
There is also risk in the equation. You can lower risk of any failure by targeting existing markets and by preparing well by researching potential customers/markets. Also, if you know something about the product/service and/or customers that can give you an advantage and lower your risk again.
Unless, you have a lot of money behind you, it's better not to be a pioneer. Stick with markets that already buy. Of course you might be a little different with your marketing mix (product, pricing, place, promotion), but you shouldn't get into something where you need to create the market.
There is a lot more that can be said about this - but in short, if your initial investment is low and unless you have leverage to raise additional capital, you are left with offering services or high turnover "front loaded" businesses (where you get paid at the time of sale for delivery of physical products which you can pay for at a later time).
Almost forgot, there are also opportunities online. There are some big fortunes being made online everyday often started out with little investment. Like everything else though, takes a little time and effort. |
