theverysexybird | If you sold a million items for a pound-you would make a million pounds? |
its only a theory but if you sold a million items for one pound then you would make a million pounds, this could be done at a boot sale if you could get hold of the stuff for it,
im concidering doing boot sales and having a pound stall and just bank the profits. Additional Details if i sold items for one pound each i ment, and no, i dont no where near expect to actually sell a million items, i was just speclating thats all.
i do have items that i get for free and will sell for a pound each at a boot sale, so take off the ten pounds pitch fee and i have profit, alot of profit, and as for petrol it would cost 2.50 to get to my local boot sale, when i do start this in sept im sure to have a healthy bank balance. no need to be nasty people-----i am not insulting anyone or hurting anyone am i now, so whats the problem to all those smart arses, but thankyou loads to all the nice people out there xx
p.s. and also i ment it as an insentive to anyone else out there xxx |

In theory you would have a million pound in turnover, you wouldnt actually have a million pounds in profit. You have to take in to account, the fuel for the vehicle, the site fees, the fees for set up, including stock and things like that. It is a great idea but make sure you put alot of thought into it first as alot of people that do boot sales these days sell alot of really really cheap things.
Maybe go to a few sales in your area too, that might give you a rough idea of what people pay for things, not forgetting the good old hagglers out there too!
Good luck with your business though, I wish you every success :) |

surely if you sold a million items for £1 you'd only actually have £1? |

Noooo.....unfortunately.......there's the overheads you need to cut out and then taxes.......
A million pounds, possible, but not in an easy way..... |

yes you would make £1mil but you wouldnt come out with £1mil as you would have to deduct the price of the stall and petrol travelling to and from said car boot etc...plus cost of sarnies and snack throughout the day lol |

If you get your items for free and dont tell the tax man then yes |

You would only make the difference between your cost and you revenue.
It's easy to forget all the costs involved with running a business. But, good luck. |

It would take a long time to sell a million items at a boot sale. If you sold one item every 10 seconds it would take you ten years and that's if you worked 10 hours a day on your stall (if my calculation is correct). I would rather try something else as I doubt you will drum up anywhere near that sort of business. |

No the government would want their cut of you hard earned cash. |

yes you would make a milliond pounds, in gross sales, deduct the cost of good sold and the rental, salary etc. But you will not earn a milllion. |

are you intentionally thick or have you had a accident.
even if you sold the items for a million even a car boot as costs therefore the anser is no
I HAVE ACTUALLY READ THE QUESTION AND I now offer my sincere apologies it is obviously me who is thick for not reading the question correctly you would have made £1 less whatever costs you incurred in the process of selling |
