Do you have a legitimate reason for not wanting to purchase the item? You can always contact the seller, explain the situation, and they are able to cancel the auction without penalty to either of you if they choose.
If you have a good reason and you are dealing with a reputable seller, there's a chance you can get out of it. But, if you just don't feel like paying for it after winning it, you're out of luck. |

you're technically obligated to pay for it. the seller can take up the issue with eBay fraud department. I'd contact the seller asap. |

If you cancel you will get a low score on credibility. You should not have bid if you were not going to buy dear. |

You really should not bid unless you plan to pay. |

contact the seller and tell them you changed your mind. it's like a store if you don't want something you bought, you simply return it. if you don't get in contact with the seller than you will get an unpaid item strike which makes you look bad. |

you have to email the seller and say you wont pay but they will leave you a bad feedback and make it hard for you to buy or sell items again, you shouldnt bid if you dont want something!it is unfair to other bidders who end up paying more for your stupidity, and it costs the sellers money to list it. |

Buyers automatically enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the seller if they win the online auction or use the Buy It Now feature. eBay's Unpaid Item policy requires buyers to pay the seller for the items that they commit to purchase.
Sellers can file an Unpaid Item dispute with eBay for each of their items that are purchased but not paid for. eBay will issue a strike on the account of the buyer who does not honor their obligation to pay (unless the buyer and seller mutually agree not to complete the transaction).
Note: If a buyer gets too many strikes in too short a time period, their account will be suspended indefinitely. In some cases, limits may be placed on the buyer’s account in advance of suspension. |

In most cases you have to pay but sometimes you can email the person and explain and then they contact Ebay but they do have to leave feedback of the incident for future ebayers.
But look on the bright side, it is Ebay so you can re sell it. |

Sorry: you can't. Under eBay rules, your bid obligates you to follow through with the transaction. They can't "make" you pay, but if you don't you'll get negative feedback from the seller, and maybe a sanction from eBay. What you might try is to contact the seller, explain your situation, and offer to pay something and not take the item. |

The seller should have contact information. Explain the situation - shouldn't be problem but do it quckily. As a seller it has happened to me before. The worst thing to do is NOTHING! Good Luck |

ask the seller to cancel the auction and mutually agree to cancel the auction. the keyword is "mutually" since both parties MUST agree to cancel. |
