Well due to your age, getting a "REAL" job will be difficult. I know in our state, the school won't even give you a pass to work until you are 16. Anyway, my daughter is 13 and she walks dogs for money. 5 dollars a walk is standard but more if the dog is difficult and less if the dog is really easy or the person does not have a lot of money. (elderly on a pension or state aide)
Paper routes also accept younger workers. You could check into that. |

One of my best friends when I was 15 went around to thrift shops and picked out the best clothes for cheap and purses and other items and spruced them up, reconstucted them etc and then sold them on ebay. You may have to get your parents to open an account or permission to have the account. She made so much money doing this....and still does. Infact I think she makes about 300-600 dollars a week, on 6-7 great reconstucted thrift finds! Also you may want to look at http://etsy.com if you like to make things, it is a place to set up shop for things that are hand made. |

the bad news is because of your age it is almost impossible to get a "real" job. but the good news is there are ways for you to make money. lawn care, babysitting (even though you dont care for it, it is a great source of income), snow shoveling, i use to paint houses and run errands for the elderly, dog walking, tutoring, etc. good luck! |

i started working when i was 14 washing up in a local old peoples home. I think there are limits on how many hours u can do.
whata bout a paper round, washin up in resturants, glass collecting in pubs, dog sitting, dog walking, cleaning. I did all these things before i was 16.
good luck |

Honey, I myself have been loking for a real job since i was your age and i have gone years unscuessfully and i know of people who are in college who still are unsucessful. Its all about getting your foot in the door. No one wants to hire you if you have no experience and you cant get experience till someone hires you, that whole prediciment. My advice to you would be ask your parents, do they have friends who own a shop or know someone who knows someone who could help you out. If you dont know people, chances of finding work are slim to none. |

It's really difficult for 14 yr olds to find "real jobs". You have to get a work permit, usually from department of social services or somewhere, varies state to state. Then you just need to look around - fast food places maybe, movie theatre - maybe. It will be difficult though. Most businesses prefer 16yrs+ |

Paper rounds, work in a post office/shop, or you could be an Avon rep, but you'd have to get it in a parents name. |

I don't know if anyone would hire a 14 year old. You can check with grocery stores like Winn-Dixie, Wal-Mart of Food Lion. Maybe one of them could hire you as a bagger, or even a cashier. It just depends on who you know and who you have connects with. Good Luck, I hope you find what u r looking 4. |

that is probably the only thing you can do for another year or 2. Odd jobs might seem lame but everyonce in a while you will get a good amount of cash.
some ideas are
cut lawns
babysit
walk dogs
(totally lame but hey) lemonade stand
garage sale
wash people's car
rake leaves
(christmas time) wrap presents
anything like that |

enjoy your youth because once you become an adult you're gonna have to work untill you retire. i got my 1st job when i was 15 and have been working since then(im 21 now) and i can tell you since i didnt NEED money while i was 15 and 16 i would have preferred not working
anyways if you are looking for just a few extra dollars here and there i get about $100-$200/month on online surveys so that might be an opition for you |

You could try the local grocery store, I'm not sure about McD's,but maybe a small fast food place, a video store, Or start your own business in your neighborhood, like window cleaning, or handy person doing odd jobs, like raking leaves, you could even have your own website. Think outside the box and win, make money and have fun! |

When I was your age I made a lot of money mowing grass. I was good at it because I would, for extra money, offer to trim the curb, rake leaves, etc., anything needed in the yard. I also did chores for people in my neighborhood, especially, the older people that needed help. Deliver flyers to your neighborhood. It sometimes is not good to post these on the street, etc., due to your safety. You can offer to watch pets, babysit (first take a course through the YMCA or other), work in a mall store, work at a gym, etc. If you put your "thinking cap" on you have unlimited possibilities. Whatever you do, do the very best because you will get referrals which means more jobs and more money.
There are a lot of people that work from their homes. At times they need help filing or just odd jobs. Insure your parents meet and know this person for your protection. It is also important to know states have laws governing employment of minors. Before you are disappointed when applying check the laws for hiring minors first. States that will allow you to work also govern the number of hours you may work. |
