Where there is a will, there is a way. Most people are broke because they dont realise that they are broke. Job is good to have till better things come along. Never trust the job as secure. There is no such thing called security in the job as the employer can fire the employee any time with 5 minute notice. Starting a small business with no capital investment and setting a game plan to implement and work accordingly during the weekends and weekdays evenings without affecting the job schedule and working partime can create significant income. If you like yahoo!answers, there is another site similar to it that pays you a little to post. It isn't going to pay your rent, but you can make about $30 a month on it if you post and respond for an hour or two each day. It's fun, like yahoo!answers, and there are lots of forums. Plus, you get to design a profile sort of like myspace. You get paid for quality posts, adding pictures, and referrals. Check it out:

Online jobs are like real jobs, it has to be a job. Some might include working for an insurance company and doing paperwork at home. Employee or self employed.
You can be a web designer and either make money from the sale of the site/design or running the site and making money off of advertising, links clicked, etc. Now if you go w/ traffic for money, it takes millions of hits to generate cash. Google for example pays like 1 to 3 cents per click. You can read up on Googles advertising on their home page.
Being against porn, I hate to say it, but a simple, 1 girl porn site can rank in the money. Being a web designer and a biz man, I have ran the stats on one. Unreal, like million a year if played right, even being small time. But be prepared for the big boys to come and take you down, they want the market and not to share it.
Here is an example of how simple it is to be self employed and to create a job, any job, that you desire and it can take almost no start up cash at all.
Got a car, box of trash bags, rope, ladder, $35? Great, you are now in biz as a Gutter Cleaning Specialist.
Tie the ladder to the car w/ the rope, toss in the trashbags, spend $10 at GoDaddy.com and get a dot com, free email and 1 page free site. Then spend $25 at Kinko's and get some basic biz cards.
Drive to the nearest rich neighborhood and knock on the first door. Say you noticed their gutters needed cleaned and you will do it for just $40. They agree and you get to work, hour later you knock again, thank for the business, collect your payment, give them a card.
You can hit easily 30 homes in a day, 6 will say yes. So 6 x $40 x 5 days per wk = $1200. Minus more trashbags, gas, biz cards and minus 16% self employment tax you end up with $925 to your pocket for doing nothing more than enjoying the nice days, talking to 6 people, and doing a basic chore around a house.
Now if you have seasons, lets say you don't work for 4 months out of the year (winter), that is still $43,000 a yr job for working 8 months. Isn't that what most TRY to make after college and working a complet year at 65 hrs a wk? And they have to buy suits, ties, fancy car, lunches, etc.
I do automotive cosmetics repairs for high line dealerships. I charge $75 per basic job, basic job takes me 40 mins. You do the math. |

Well, the previous answer from Nunoyvgvna Awi was very solid. I will only add that if you really want to do something ONLINE, you can get some ideas from the following places:
The Wahm website (link below). Even though it is "work at home moms", it has valuable information on work at home jobs. Check out the message boards. They will help you steer clear of any scams and they are a good source of REAL work at home jobs. You can get information from people who actually work at home - like how much money they make, etc.
The my mommy biz website. Again, I realize you are a male, but it has a good list of business ideas. Some are ones you can start from home.
I learned on wahm.com that Google hires people to work at home. It is primarily done through a company called WorkforceLogic (Google's outsourcing partner). Go to google's website, get to the job page and do a search on WorkforceLogic. I've heard through wahm that this pays around $15 per hour. Also, you can search the wahm.com message boards to learn more.
Finally, if you want to start your own website or online store, go to Site Build it/Site Sell. They are AWESOME! They will help you every step of the way. I provided a link below. Download some of the free e-books.
