Have you checked if your husband is entitled to DLA and Mobility Allowance?If he is then you could get a Carer's Allowance for looking after him.It all depends on the degree of disability.
As for earnings,you need to check with DWP |

Yes you can as incapacity benefit isnt means tested. The claim is only based on your husband, it has nothing to do with you (dont mean that nasty!!) if it were income support you may encounter problems as that IS a means tested benefit. You could work 5hrs a week or 24/7 and it wouldnt affect his claim for incapacity benefit |

Sometimes mortgage companies will let you just pay the interest on the loan and put the principle amount back onto the back of the loan. You should talk to the mortgage company about doing this. |

Not sure about how many hours you can work before it affects the benefit but you should check to see if you have some form against illness on your mortgage and loan. Most loans have a policy protection that kicks in (if you took it out) and you might qualify for that. Similarly if your husband was working when you took out the mortgage but now cannot work then you should see if you can take a payment break.
So many loans have different rules but ask them first and then if they cannot help you, ask at the citizens advice bureau to see if they can mediate between you and the bank/loan company. This might take a while as the CAB are really busy. |
