Do you have any idea of what kind of home business would be a right fit for you and your family? Its best to look for opportunitys that you have a passion about its very hard to market things that you don't like. Stay away from the ads that boast that you can get rich quick or make thousands right away any thing that you do go with there is going to be a learning curve. If its a work at home job you are looking for never pay a fee there are many scams like that so beware.
But if it is a home business there will most likely be fee's to join I don't know if you are familiar with wahm.com but it is another forum where you can find lots of information for free
you might want to check there too.

You want "just a little extra"? Then you're limiting yourself and putting restrictions on how much you truely can make with very little effort. Work smarter, not harder is what I'm getting at...but moving on....
If you want "just a little extra", a garage sale or selling the left overs of your kids' baby toys on ebay or craigslist would be best. Data entry is alright, I looked into it and found that when I signed up all it would give me is a list of companies that do it.
Don't be fooled by data entry. Why would someone pay you a legit salary to data entry from home when they can hire someone in a third-world country to do it at a fraction of the cost?
If you're looking at computer work from home, maybe you do online surveys or be a mystery shopper or something.

Selling on eBay is one way. I make craft items and sell them. There are many ways to come up with stuff to sell. Look around your house first. If you like garage sales, keep an eye out for things that might sell on eBay (the only trouble with that is you are stuck with the item if it doesn't sell). Or you can find things at wholesale prices and sell them.
There is always MLM's. I started out with Amway, didn't like it. Then looked into Scrap booking, but family and friends said that they would not buy anything. Got into BeautiControl because I really liked the products, but they are more a luxury item. You can go to a discount store and buy almost the same thing. I am now in Sunrider and love it.
So if you want to get in to a network marking program, do your research. Make sure it is something that you and your family/friends might use.
That goes the same with anything you do, make sure you are going to enjoy it.

There are many legit home businesses out there that will be able to help you earn extra money. Are you wanting to start your own home business from scratch or are you wanting to one that is already set up for you? If you're wanting to start one from scratch, you need to first make a list of your skills and hobbies. Then look at those lists and figure out a way you can earn money from those things. For example, if you love making bird houses, you could start selling them from home.
If you're wanting to have a home business that's already set up for you, a Google search will find you a bunch of different options. A good one to start is one that you feel will work for you and that you'll enjoy doing. I have an home business that works well for me listed in my profile. Maybe it'll be something that you'll enjoy, too :)
