It is hard to make an accurate suggestion without knowing your interests. I can give you an example of what I have done. I have built my business over the Internet by building a website through a program that is available online. This program has helped me to design a website that is ranking high in the search engines like Yahoo and Google. The high rankings have helped to bring targeted traffic to my website for free. Do you have a business idea that could work over the Internet. Some people that are involved in the program will even build a website about their home town and make money from advertising. My first suggestion would be "don't borrow the money." I have learned a lot from listening to Dave Ramsey on the radio, and he would say to start small, and let the business build itself. In other words, do whatever it is on a small scale, and use the profits you make to start building the business up. There are lots of ways to advertise for free. |

your ques doesnt provide a clear picture abt wat kind of a business do you want to open? is it an online business or offline?
if it is a online business then you can do wat others hav said like get a paypal account and register at ebay and start from dere... but if it is offline/physical store kind of a business then it is a totally different thing.
wat is minimal here? how much money do you consider to be categorized under minimal? there are alot of business ideas for which having a million $ would be considered as minimal !
do a survey of wat could be a potential business around where you live or in a running commercial area, wat will be the rental charges there, what products having high demands is missing. start from these basics and may be you could find a business idea which wont be needing much money at all!
for example may be its a clothes store which could have a potential.... so then you can easily get clothes on credit from wholesellers.
it all depends on the type of product you are selling and what kind of demand it has in the market. survey first then you easily get the idea how much money will you really require

Ok, What you can do is get a pay pal accpunt which is free. Get a free dropshipper (e-mail me and I can give you a couple) and sign up with them. Sell on ebay. Make your customers pay for everything. Save the money for a business you wanna start. There you have your free way to start and earn money. |

All the answers so far are quite accurate. If you have a business idea, and you strongly believe in it, then I would take the money you have and invest it into getting a professional business plan made up. Then instead of taking on the risk, present the business plan to people you know, or maybe some potential investors that you can find by asking around.
Your entire goal prior to investing an ounce of effort into your business is getting an investor behind it to fuel the start up and growth. If you can't find 1 single investor to put money into it, then take all the advice you receive from your presentations and refine the business plan or business idea and then re-present the idea.
You might have to give up a large share of the business by having investors involved, but you won't go into personal debt, won't have significant risk and if the business becomes a big success sell your shares and move onto the next venture. With your new found wealth, you might be able to pay yourself while you prepare the business plan and find investors. Chances are, if you are successful building 1 business your ability to attract investors again in the future increase. |
