What I would do is to just go over your business plan with either an attorney that specializes commercial law or even a CPA. Most consultations are usually free. 99% of businesses fail because there was no set out business plan. Good luck! |

You are never too old or to young to start a business but what scares me is that you want a business without knowing what you want to do. It's going to be pretty hard to reach goals if you haven't set them. Now is a good time to brainstorm your hobbies, interests, skills and experiences but also to identify what problems or needs you want to solve for people and who those people are. Your choices are to sell products, provide services or a combination of the two. You can do anything from selling on ebay to designing websites to doing chores and maintenance for the disabled or elderly to auto repair to acting as a personal chef to ... well, the list goes on and on. There are organizations that can help you with writing and following a business plan. Depending on your business you can start with $50 for a business license or $50,000 for a fully stocked store. Start small but think big. Ask your family, friends, neighbors, fellow students, etc what products or services they would need or what problems they have that you can solve. I recommend you read "Skip College: Go Into Business for Yourself." It's an ebook, and the link is attached. There are lots of examples given, and ways to keep it simple.
You are certainly old enough to start your own business, but you definitely need a plan. You also need to find something you're passionate about - you'll be more likely to enjoy it, and more likely to make a good living.
Also, remember that you'll never go wrong helping other people make THEIR dreams come true. |
