Based on the average minimum wage, I say you have it good where you are at. Might I also commend you for taking on a job at 15, you must be very reliable for the parents to entrust their children in your care...keep up the good work!! |

If it's $7.00 per kid, it's fine. If it's just $7.00 and they're not your own siblings, it's not enough. Consider the family though. If that's all they can afford, I wouldn't push it.
**PS- Am I the only one who assumed she meant $7.00/hr, not day? I got paid $5.00 per kid per hour 10 years ago. It stands to reason that she's getting paid slightly more, not less. |

It depends on the child. In my example, remember that I am taking inflation-in-reverse into consideration. I would have been a 50 cents per hour child, while my brother, Stephen, would have cost our parents $35 per; which means they would have had to settle for a quick dinner and dance at McDonalds or White Castle. |

I would say it depends on what you have to do for them. If you have to get meals ready for them of get them bathed and put into bed and things like that then I would expect a bit more for 2 children. If you just have to watch them bascially and their parents are around for all the harder stuff then I would say your making good money. You could also try getting a part-time job too. I got my first job when I was 15. I started at less then $7 an hour, but I worked more hours then most babysitters do.
I would aslo say it depends on how long your babysitting for. If they only need you for like 1 or 2 hours then I would say pay you $10 for an hour and $20 for 2 because its nice of you to come and babyit for that short of time when you could be out doing other things. If its a longer period like say 5 hours or something then giving you $35 would be good. |

not bad per hour, it also depends on the people ur babysitting, if they dont have a lot of money, thats a lot for them to give. but if they are filthy rich, u should be expecting around the $10 area (at least). |
