I am. Currently I'm a web designer and would like to work from home. I thought about recruiting some people that can look for clients in their city and sell them my services. For example, I would charge 1000 for a website and they could sell it to their clients at 1500 USD. That's a $500 profit for just one sale. In my experience, at least 3 out of 10 businessmen I talk to want a website so it's pretty easy to sell. I hate selling though (I'm a shy person) that's why I just want to concentrate on designing. |

I was listening to Paul Zane Pilzer recently talking about the next 10 million millionaires being those who chose to start a business from home. I also recently read several articles that shared these statements: 10,000 people per day sign up for some home based business. 95-97% fail. Scams out rank legit offers 42-1.
Why do people want to work from home? Job security, employer loyalty, decent benefits, decent wages.... they are all falling by the wayside. People are starting to want more and are realizing they will never get further than they are right now by working for someone else.... So I would say that those seeking out that dream life style are probably pretty serious.
I know I am... I would never go back to corporate america and a 9-5 job.

Absolutely, yes. Some people made fortunes working from home, but most have have lost money on on-line money making opportunities. Why not be your own boss? That is why I keep trying for that one on line money making opportunity that will finally will paid out big. |

I'm Serious! I work from home all the time ... but then, my main business is computer consulting ... teaching and service.
But, There are a lot of ways to get scammed looking for online businesses or jobs.
I've been online for many years, even before the Web was around, doing emails and bulliten boards- and even THEN there were people trying to scam other people!
Anyway, I'm most impressed with a number of businesses ... some need a small amount of investement of money ... ALL need an amount of time invested in doing the work or promoting.
Most of the hype out there about 'type at home' jobs are 'bull....', the only type at home jobs are the ones that you create yourself!
That is, offer your services as a typist, editor, article writer, etc. You can find these kinds of freelance postitions at www.elance.com or www.guru.com - there are many companies and individuals that need those services. The best thing to do is to go check out what's available and sign up as a provider of those services.
The only other way to get that info out there is to post it on a site like www.craigslist.org.
