Yes. I agree with all the other positive answers you got. Here's one example of a true genius in business:
Henry Ford. (Ford Motor Company)
He tested his first motor by bolting it to the kitchen sink at home. To start his business, he went door to door to businesses and people he knew and asked people to buy shares in his company. One pensioner lady bought $100 worth of his FoMoCo shares. Years later he bought them back from her for over twenty million dollars...
EDIT: Oops! Just checked and it was actually only TWELVE million dollars...Sorrryy..
But I mean, she still did okay by believing in this young inventor, didn't she?
He offered Walter Chrysler a chance to buy in. Chrysler turned him down, and some years later HE said, "I never thought he was going to build a million of the blamed things!"
Ford was a pioneer in many ways, setting up company-financed instalment schemes so his workers could buy their own cars. He was the first to offer cash back incentives and worked at improving effciency to bring down costs.
Then there was Thomas Alva Edison, who was not 'only' the inventor of the light bulb, the phonograph, and many other things, never even graduated from high school. His teacher wrote in his school report: "this boy will never amount to anything"!
So if you have a idea for a business, get some advice on setting up a business plan, don't let ANYONE tell you "You can't do it" and GO for it!
Good luck!

Absolutely YES!
In fact college will only teach you how to work for someone Else's business. If you want to learn about business it takes (Independent) study.
Some of the most successful business owners in the world did not graduate college.
DO NOT let the fact that you don't have a college degree stand in the way of your business dreams.
One great way to start a successful business is to learn a trade like painting.
It is an easy skill to learn and an ever growing industry 22.5 billion this year alone.
It is also an easy business to run and you can earn a professional income working part time.
How do I know? I run a very successful painting business and I do not have a college degree.
I can show you how to do the same.
Hope this helps
Andy

Hi,
If you are talking about an online business it is never too late..
1 year is enough to see profit, and it is even better if you can afford some low cost startup fees.
I pay $10/month only at http://www.website.ws/machgoo and after 7months saw profit. My secret is learning new advertising methods free/low cost from http://www.advertisingbiz.net.tf

I did it at 26 years old and turned a profit in the first year. No loan, low overhead business.
Was making 6 figures within 3 years. It is a lot of work and not for everyone, but it can certainly be done.

In this life, one thing counts
In the bank, large amounts
I'm afraid these don't grow on trees,
You've got to start a business or two
Take a tip from Bill Gates
No degree, large estate.
I recall, he started small
And he dropped out of old Harvard too

Most definitely. Most of the richest business people aren't college graduates. It takes a keen understanding of the market you are entering, managing your risk and timing your entrance and exit. Good luck.

Yes! But it is harder. If you need loans etc.... When my husband first started his contracting firm we had to take out a small business loan. And his having a collage degree helped. If you have your own money or some one who will buy stock in your enterprise you should be able to do it with out a collage degree. But I would get a good accountant. And office staff if needed.
Hope this helps.

Absolutely! I have an aunt that started a cleaning business 16 years ago and she was just a high school graduate. It doesn't take a degree for that, just a bonding and insurance policy. Hopefully you will find good workers too. This business allowed my aunt to be able to retire at 51!

I have started, owned and run 7 companies in the last 12 years and I dropped out of school at 15 without a single exam or degree to my name. These days I consult to large organisations and Government departments on how to improve their business!
What I did differently was I found my passion and then I decided to be the best in my feild. I studied, went to every seminar, read every book and surfed the Net for hours just continually learning.
A degree does not mean you are going to be good at business it just means you paid attention in class and you can answer exams.
I will hire world experience over theory any day, people who have got out there and done it and made mistakes and then learnt from them.
GO FOR IT and good luck!

If you have money, you can start a business.
If you have chance, your business will work.
If you have knowledge you can use it to earn more money through your business.
If you have a degree you can decorate your wall.
If you have them all, it’s like Jackpot.

Of course, but it could be a lot easier with a degree. If you're not up for a bunch of college, just enroll in a few classes. It'll definitely help.
