Yes it's quite safe. You just place a bid (or buy right away) and then usually you are sent through PayPal to pay for it. You pay for S&H and usually there's no tax. If you don't receive an item that you pay for, you can contact eBay and they will help you get a refund. |

I've been buying from ebay for years and have never had any trouble. Shipping and handling are added but is usually reasonable. I've found all the ebayers I've dealt with are very honest. |

Most the time, yes. I've been buying stuff from eBay since I can remember.
Also, it depends on the person when it comes to tax as well as S&H.
Check out the person's Feedback, and see how much positive reputation they've got. If they have more than negative, you're good to go.
You should try it out. eBay's one of the top places to buy stuff from for a reason. =) |

shipping and handling is all up to the individual seller and they will tell you....
safe or not safe...I have gotten some great deals and a couple of bombs....it's really a crap shoot, if you go with a vendor who has a very high rating and has been at it a long while you are probably okay...but...still, it has it's draw backs. |

It depends on the seller. I sell on eBay and am honest, 100% feedback - there are many honest sellers. Each seller has their own policy - some charge taxes, some don't. Unfortunately, there are also crooked sellers, so always do your research - check the feedback first off, before placing a bid. |

Get it girrrl!

yeah
i bought something from there before. |

it is very safe to buy on e-bay,,,there are a few thing s to remember though,,,real bargains are usually too good to be true, they usually take no taxes,,,and there are high shipping and handling to make up for their losses,,,so you have to comparison shop as you would anytime you buy something,,,,if it looks good,,then buy it,,,,sometimes you can find 20% to 30% differences,,but if you are looking for a 90% bargain,,,,,recheck yourself..... |

Ebay is great :] I've used it for many years myself with relitively few problems when buying. I think I've only had around 2 items lost in the post in all the years which is pretty good going! These days, most sellers insure their packages too, especially with higher-value items.
Usually, sellers prefer to accept "paypal", a safe, instant online method of exchanging money from your bank to the seller's. In this way, items can be dispatched so much faster than through a cheque or money order. Any taxes would be included here, they don't aim to catch you out!
Postage and packaging is stated underneath the listing on ebay. Some sellers forget to put this on, so you can send them a message through ebay, asking them to advise you on this. Be wary of very high postal costs though, as some sellers aim to make their listings more attractive by starting an item at, for example, 99c or £1 etc...then you see the postal rate is enormous to make up for it!!
Some items are "buy it now", meaning you click one button and the sale is completed! Most are on the basis of the "highest bidder" however, and run over 2-10 days. Once you place a bid, this is legally binding though so make sure you are going to want it in a couple of days time when the auction ends!
All in all, ebay is brilliant and quite addictive, so be careful! :D I nearly always find what I want on there and have found some great bargains. Go to ebay now and set-up your account, its free and no obligations to buying anything! Have a browse and add items to your "favourites". You can come back to these later if you are still interested, without the obligation of bidding and having to pay for something you loose interest in. |

I have only been ripped off once (out of maybe 300 transactions). I got my money back miraculously--since then things have gotten easier. I would suggest only using Paypal for transactions.
Tax is usually only charged by people who are in the same state as you are. They will charge shipping and handling, so make sure you check the charges before you bid.
I do buy things on ebay and I usually am quite pleased, but make sure you DO check the seller's feedback--other people having satisfactory encounters with the seller increases the chances for a good transaction with you! |

yes most of the time it is. make sure you check to see the sellers fedback. If it is high then they are safe to buy from. Also, if you get Paypal it helps to make paying safer. You cna find lots of great thigns on ebay and if you take precautions to be a safe shopper it'll pay off. You cna buy it with your paypal account. You have to give your credit card number and you cna pay that way with the paypal. there are many other ways to pay but paypal is extra security. They do charge shipping and handeling and make sure you always add that to the price to avoid getting ripped off. A $2.00 item with $18.00 shipping and handeling is a trick to get you to think you are getting a deal but you really arent. Good luck shopping! |

It is totally safe. My dad gets me stuff from there all the time. There are companies, and businesses on ebay, too. You just need to know how to make sure it is not a scam. It has never happened to us before but it can happen. You just need to make sure the product makes sense. There are pictures, no little catches that are too predictable. Once I wanted an enV cell phone. The guy said it was red. I looked it up, there is no such thing as a red enV, he was lying. I sent an email but the guy never responded. Just be sure to double check all details. |
