What do you mean by financial statements?
If these are all public records, and there isn't anything personal on there, then there is no problem. For example, my financial planner just gave me and my husband about 100 printouts, each one showing a different mutual fund, its history, its holdings, etc. I see no problem with using those papers for anything - since all the info is public.
If these are someone's personal bank records, or tax forms, or anything that might be remotely confidential, then they should definitely NOT be used as scratch paper. |

old financial statements should probably be shredded. It's not worth the risk of missing any sensitive information that could be used by someone unscrupulous. |

yes- financial should be kept for a no. of years after turning them in.
everything should be filed away safe for confidentiality- this person seems not to care. |

It's unethical and dangerous. If you or someone else is knowingly giving out someone else's finacial statements that can be misused in any way, the offender is committing a felony.
Use white-out on it, and make copies of the whited-out sheets. |

If it's something that other people will see, then yes. I don't mean the kids. They don't know what it is. But if it's something that will be brought home to their parents, I'd have to say that it's wrong. If it's something the care giver uses to write a note to herself, then it's fine, as long as the statement truly is old and it won't really be seen by anyone else. |
