ticktock | Is it wrong to want my employer to sell the business just so that I can possibly get laid off? |
The owner has been wanting to sell and I find myself wishing that he will and that the new owners will lay me off. Only problem is, I'd obviously have to try and find a new job. :-( |

No, not bad at all...but you could still look for a new job...even if it isn't gonna happen. (the selling of the business that is) |

lol, nothing wrong with wishing... Only downfall, aside from having to seek new employment, is you will not earn half of what you are now on unemployment.
I'm shocked in this economy someone actually wished they DIDN'T have a job! :-/
Count your blessings... Some day you may get what you wish for and you won't be quite as thrilled as you think you will be... Hang in there, hope you have your job long time, you may not want it, but you need it. |

Well what does all of this wishing indicate. I would say you totally dislike your current job.
There may be better ways than wishing and hoping to be laid off though. Why not choose to use the time that you have a job wisely with the view of getting a much better job that suits you.
You could begin with learning a new skill, perhaps looking for a part time job doing something different. You could even volunteer some of your free time to try a few different things and see what works for you.
I remember all of those feelings at various points in my working life and I don't wish them upon you. But do not lose the next few decades working in a role that destroys your confidence, self esteem and satisfaction in life.
You could even learn how to create your own business. It is extremely rewarding and satisfying to work for yourself. Warning though - Not all Home based business opportunities etc are worth the time and effort it takes to check them out so be careful.
Wishing you well.
