I am available from 7:00 AM until 4:00 Pm for work related phome calls. My boss continually calls me at home after 7:00 PM and twice has woken me up at night. Is he allowed to continue these, what I would call harassing phone calls? |

NO! He should know better then to be so unprofessional. Everyone is allowed a shut down time when work is somewhat forgotten. If he doesn't think so then start calling him at 7pm and see how he likes it. |

Yes, he is allowed to do that.
But, if I were you, I'd get a caller ID, and just don't pick up the phone if it's a call from him. You could always say you were sleeping and didn't hear the phone because it's in a different room now, you're sorry, etc.... |

tape the phone call then talk to those that be... if it doesn't stop or you get "let go" go to the labor board...then the police and file charges of phone harassment |

Have you asked him not to call you at home after 4pm? That might be a good place to start. You might try to call him or drop by his office at 3:30 or 3:45 and ask "Is there anything you need from me or need to know tonight?
Use caller ID and don't answer the phone in the evening! |

tell him in a written letter that you do not wish to be called at home,and keep a duplicate copy of it in case you get fired over it or it gets outta hand and you have a leg to stand on if you need to go to his boss. |

If you are on an hourly salary then , a BIG NO to that. If you are paid a straight salary then he probably can. You would agreed to be at his beck and call then. He pays you to be there when ever he needs you. But if its hourly wages then he is harassing you. And this is really called sexual harassment. His intentions are probably more on a sexual level then a business level, his using the job though to have a reason to call you. If this is a large company that he also works for and there's a Human Resource Dept. I would go see someone and report it, but if this is his own company then it would be best for you to leave and find a job somewhere else. You can get a lawyer but it would be more of a cost to you then what you would probably get out of trying to sue him. |

It depends on the sort of career or job that you have. For example, if you're a cop, or a fireman, then you would be on call 24/7, and then I can see why your boss is calling you. If you don't have that kind of job, then I think that you should report your boss, because it may have not seemed like it at first, but your boss may be trying to begin to have an unprofessional relationship with you, and that shouldn't be allowed. You are being harassed, and if you were to accuse him of sexually, verbally, physically, and/or mentally harass you, then he may just deny the whole thing. Don't let him get away with that, because if you let him, then he will. Fight for what you believe in, and stand up for your rights. I hope that my advice helps you. |

I'm sure there is no law against it, however, I would not answer my phone. Let your boss know as kindly as possible that you are available from time A to time B. If he/she has a question, please wait until the following work day. Good luck! |

hell no!!! if he calls you out side your working hoer he should pay you overtime if he refuses tell him to stop calling you .. if he does not stop that is harrassment!!!!! disonect your phone after 4 o'clock!!! :) |

Caller ID? Tell your boss, no phone calls at home unless emergency. If he calls tonight, tell him your very busy, you'll discuss "whatever" at work tomorrow. |

You should talk to him and tell him you are off limits at that time, he may not realize that he is harassing you at that time until he tells you. After you tell him, if he continues to call after 7, it definitely is harassment. |
