Is the age of 33 too old to look for a new career or go to school?
I am currently part owner of a pizza place and feel I can make more money in other fields but am scared to start over again. What do you think?

CHECK OUT MY PROFILE NOW.

Anyone can do what I do.
You are in a great position to take advantage of it.

It's never to late! Find something that you actually enjoy and go for it. It may be hard at first but starting over dosen't always mean bad things. Once your happy in your career you will start to see the benefits in other areas of your life =)

follow your dream. it's better to be 33 starting over and doing something that you love

rather than 63 feeling caught in a dead end job.

but don't just follow it for the $$. $$ can't buy happiness. Otherwise you'll be spinning your wheels again in a few years trying to start over. Do it because you love it and want to be more content in your life and career.

You are definately not too old! I am 33 myself. I work at a clinic as a Medical Asst. My passion is to go back to school to be an Xray Tech. I dont' want to work full time and go to school right now in my life, because I have a 12 yo son, who I would never get to see. So, I am going back to school after he gets out of high school.....and I will be only 38 by that time.... and plan to start my career life over again. Just think.... we won't be able to retire until we're about 70 anyway, so we should at least be able to really like what we do for our work. Good luck.

I am 27 years old and feel that I too, can find better things with a better career. I know in order to do that, I must go to college too. Im making plans to do that soon. Its never too late to do it. My mother went back to school and got her GED at age 40. Sometimes, we cant help the things life throws at us, and many of us cant just go to college right after high school. I had to get a job and buy my own car and get my own place. Its harder for some than it is others. Just set your mind to do it, and you can. Dont let others tell you that you cant.

Nope your never too old to change you career or go back to school

Do it -

you have accumulated some value business experience being a small business owner - you can certainly develop that into something that can be more lucrative. Don't settle - look at the road ahead, unless you win the lottery you'll probably have to put another 30 years into your work history before retiring. If you are thinking like this now imagne how you're going to feel in 10 years. Can you continue in this field/business for the next ten years?

I have a friend who just completed her AA and is now moving on to her BA - she's about 50. At first I thought she was wasting time, but it has made her feel so alive. She has a new sense of possibilities ahead of her and is raring to go.

Our comfort zones, sometimes are wrapped so tightly around us and do such a good job of giving us a sense of security and contentment that we turn our backs on "satisfaction".

I think if you don't pursue your thoughts - you'll lose your passion.

Best to you!

No way! Go after your dreams. I'm a teacher at a university, and I regularly have students who are much older than you.

Everybody is right! It is never too late! Many people are now starting "new" careers after reaching retirement age!

But if you go to school, study something you love, not something you think will make you money. Making money is easy (you're in business, you know that's true!), the hard part is being happy in your work.

Don't make it difficult for yourself, at least not TOO difficult!

Good luck...

I think it's a great time. I'm 32 and just changed careers, I'm going back to school to finish my degree. I have an aunt who graduated with her masters in teaching at 45. Every bit of what is holding you back is in your head.

Its never too late.Have the courage to achieve what you want in life. You are not even a third of getting too old.Go for it so that you will never have any regrets in future. What you have now is just a stepping stone.Go for it and enjoy whatever you choose.Best of luck.

No way! You're never to old to learn more. An education is a great idea if you think you can be more successful with a better one. Good luck to you! remember:

A person can be a millionare but without an education their nothing. :]

Good lord no you arn't even half way done yet! you go get it! and get it good!!

Oh my goodness no! - I'm 31 and hm currently at university studying dentistry after taking a number of years to get the right qualifications :o)
Its fab and its never too late - Go For It!
But you MUST, MUST do something you enjoy - NEVER just for the money or you won't enjoy it. If you do something your passionate about then generally the money will follow.
