Instead of buying the book borrow it from your library.
In my opinion it is a good read, it's basis is about 'Manifestation' which has been written about over and over again by many authors, however, "The Secret" is a simpler version that anyone can understand whereas some of the older versions of these types of books are difficult to understand for the everyday person.
Don't believe everything you read as some of it is fancied up for a sales pitch, just use your common sense and take on what suits you the best. The power of positive thinking does work!
Even though the author wants to share the knowledge I believe this book is also for her own personal financial gain. |

In my opinion the "Secret" is not a secret. It has been a topic since the beginning of time. You can even find reference in the Bible. If you look into most religions it will also tie in. The power of the mind is very powerful. Many people call it the law of attraction. Some call it karma. There are many names for it. I call it positive thinking. You can achieve much through exercising the mind. Whether or not you believe in it ,it exists. It never takes a break. If you are thinking negative you will attract negative. If you think positive you will attract positive. It takes a lot of practice. Some exercise the mind and quit because they do not see immediate results. The same type of excuses are made by people who say that the gym does not help them to loose weight. You have to be committed and exercise discipline. I hope this helps!

The reason the secret works on a lot of people, I think, is because:
- It can turn a pessimistic mind into an optimistic one, and that helps a lot in life.
- It promotes feeling over thinking. As an artist, I've always believed people are held back because of over thinking.
- It makes you believe in the impossible. I always thought people are held back because they believe something is impossible when it isn't.
There's one thing I disagree with tough about "the secret". It seems to state that thoughts can bring things into your life. I don't believe in getting things without being active. Even if it's true, it's stupid to just stay passive and arrange your life to receive things. |

The secret, as I understand it, boils down to really focusing on, and wishing for, that one thing you really want most - a husband/wife, fame, a mansion, whatever.
If it worked as promised, I'd own a motorcycle, so no, it doesn't work.
But...visualizing what you want, thinking it through in great detail, can help you to focus your actions toward making your desires a reality. It can also make you more tuned in to spotting opportunities to move you closer to your goal.
But there's still that whole "taking concrete action" component that can't be ignored. |

I assume you mean "The Secret" the book that caused a buzz a while back. Is it true? Yes, but to an extent. It talks about the law of reciprocity and other "secrets" that most people dismiss as having little or no value, but if you talk to any serious investors or businessmen, they endorse them whole heartedly. The book attempts to get you to understand just how powerful an effect your mindset and attitude have on your success in life and with your goals. The other part of it the equation though, is actual hard work.
