"Success begins with the CORRECT information."
Make sure you check your sources before you make your decision. If people can't source it they are giving you an opinion or theory. That's equals loss of time and money. If you want results check out the sources below.

There are lots of scams, but some do really work. Think of the Internet as a massive market place. Research and read about any business you may be interested in before you make a decision.
Good luck! |

Yes, there is!
I partnered with a company about four years ago and have been very pleased with them.
I love being able to work from home, Plus they are members of the BBB which was important to me with all the scams out there.
I dont have to Stock Inventory or sell products nor do I have to take orders, deliver anything or get stung with bad checks when making collections ... Did that in the past, NOT again!
If you want more information about them I would be happy to share. Just send me an email and let me know.
It just might give you the options you are looking for |

Peachy,
I am involved with a company that is homebased and is not a rip off. Unlike the typical homebased scam, my business requires the owner to put effort into their business. There is no sitting at home watching tv and waiting on the next big check to come in. If you are interested in learning more, take a look at the following website: www.teamdungan.mygelfusion.com. I ask that you research the webpage, the company, and the product, and prepare your questions and then get in contact with me. This business is not for everybody; however, for those that it is for... the payout is awesome. |

Some of the "home based businesses" offered by various people are what you might consider a "rip off." A rip off as you call it would be any business that requires you to put in an amount of money to start and then you don't make that money back.
The big problem with this idea is that all business taken on by an individual is a risk of the initial investment. This is not only an internet business but a non-internet business.
My Wife's father came to the USA in the "40's" after World War 2 and got a job working for Ford Motor Co. He worked hard there for almost 10 years and then left Ford to start his own clothing store in a small town.
He had a lot of tough times in the beginning but he did not give up and decide that running a businesss like that was a "rip off." He worked hard to get ahead and made a good life for himself and his family by running this clothing store.
I am involved in an internet business that takes some work to build a strong business in but it is definitly not a rip off. I know this because of the people that I see advertising this business in various places on the internet.
GDI is a viable business oportunity for someone who is willing to put a couple of hours a day into. It is not a get rich quick scheme but a get rich in time and stay rich business.
Try this out and you will see that it is a smart choice for a smart business person.

Just watch a presentation and give it a try for free and I think you will invest in your own future by starting your own business with GDI. |

I am working with Discovery Toys as an Educational Consultant. The business is selling toys from birth all the way up to adults, and they also have toys and learning materials designed for autistic children. I have a 6 year old boy and a 2 year old girl and they like playing with the products I sell and it is a good way to meet families and have fun. You can earn alot of money and the incentives are good. I chose this opportunity not really knowing what I was getting into, but they all give you alot of support and training that is really easy to learn. Check it out at www.discoverytoyslink.com/growingislearn... |

Yes, there are home-based businesses that arent rip-offs but you may actually have to (God forbid) WORK and if you want your own business, you are going to have to put up some money just as if you were buying a franchise.
Any business you own, whether it is home-based, retail store, internet based, is going to involve selling. Most people dont want to sell. In that case, you arent going to be in business very long. A great book to read before you jump into any business is The EMyth Revisited by Michael Gerber. Using an example of a bakery owner, he steps people through the pitfalls of owning a business and shows how to set up systems to make the business as automated and consistent as possible.
So, when I went looking for a home-based business, I looked at quite a few. Many home-based businesses are MLMs. I wasnt real big on network marketing when I started. In fact, one of the criteria was that a company had to have a product or service that I could sell and make a decent commission on even if I never recruited a team. I have built a team almost by default, but I still mainly sell the product. I also looked at residual income; that is, do I keep making money on the service or product after making the original sale. I settled on PrePaid Legal services (www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/bgrassey) because I was using it in my business and I was recommending it to friends. I am not a great salesperson, never worked it the way I should and I still made money. Part time money for part time effort. I now make $400 - $500 a month residual income even if I dont sell anything. It makes me wish I had worked harder four years ago! I am retooling now that I have seen the residual income.
There are lots of good companies. You need to check into them, make sure they have a valid product or service, check to see how much competition they have in the market place, look for residual income as well as a good commission structure and then make sure it is something that you yourself would use. You cant sell a product that you dont believe in.
You can also start your own business perhaps in some service type industry. I have a friend who is a certified grant writer, who works from home and makes very, very good money. He took a grant writing course like the one you can get at www.superchargedgrants.com I am about to take the course because I see a market for the product. It takes about four - six weeks of going through the course on your own and you actually write a grant in the process. So, you may be able to research and write a grant for your own small business.
Whatever you do, it has to fit in with what you are passionate about doing with your life, so give that some thought first. Then just look at companies with some common sense. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I hate that. :-)

YES! If you love to travel and you have a computer, you can be a home based travel agent. It takes a tiny amount of start up, but it's well worth the few dollars you spend. I started my business on less than $1000.00 over a period of a few months, now I have a clientele and I've traveled to Mexico twice and Jamaica once since opening last May.
Here are some links to information that might help:
Start by reading this page. I ordered the program and followed his plan. It works.
http://www.hometravelagency.com
Then go here to check out valuable resources and suppliers.
http://www.ossn.com/faqs.asp
Don't be surprised. We're everywhere! A lot of storefront agencies and closed and moved their businesses into their homes.
It's bonified. This isn't a scam or a ripoff. You must be dedicated and really want it to succeed. I do it on the side. I also have a full time time job in the insurance industry. Once my travel agency is self supporting, I'll do that full time.
