most stay at home online businesses are not effective at earning income, and many are just scams to begin with. definitly stay away from places that require to pay a fee or buy products to get started.
The only "real" way to work at home, online is to first have a job where 98% of what you do is on a computer, then your company in an effort to downsize and cut costs may approach you to perform your job from home on a company provided system. called "tele-commuting" not many people have this luxury |

You could try online surveys, I'm a college student but I basically work less than a hour a day and never on the weekends. sometimes I get into online focus groups and product tests. It is mostly answering questions about products you use for about 10-15 minutes and then getting $2-5 for your time. It pays mostly by checks with some going right to your paypal. There are lots and lots to do online, it depends what you are really looking for and where your interests lie?
There's places like EBay and EBid where you can sell items to make money. There are lots of paid surveys where you can fill in surveys and get paid for everyone you do. You could look at Niche marketing, where you require skills to market online in the correct areas.
My advice, decide what you are interested in and do some research in that area to find you ideal way and mostly make sure you're enjoying what you're doing and look forward to turning on that PC! |

There are tons of such legitimate jobs that you can do from home. Many require skills that you would find in a normal office environment.
I have a home based business in engineering consulting. Consulting in general whether it be financial, marketing, or advertisement is a very good way to work from home. Graphic Design has also proven to be a rather lucrative method of working from home.
I wanted a career that would allow me to not have to commute to work every day and would still allow me to travel. Engineering Consulting has worked out wonderfully. |

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'. |
