I homeschool my five children and at times, I think it would be nice to have some extra income for vacations and such. I have searched and searched for a job that I can do at home, but am skeptical to what the internet and newspapers say is available. I do not want to do anything that involves in home parties like, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Stampin' Up, Party Lite, ect... I have been there and done that! I am wanting a job that would involve a few hours a day doing paper work or computer work. You see different advertisements of things available, but you have to pay so much to get into them. I don't mind forking out the money per say, IF I know that it is for a true job, not a scam. I have been there done that too! Is there a real job like that out there?

If you're looking for a work from home JOB (not a home based business), there are lots of companies who hire for call center type positions. And don't listen to the nay-sayers who say work from home and telecommuting jobs are all scams or that there aren't real jobs. There are. You just have to know where to look and how to avoid the scams.
Do NOT pay for a list of jobs or pay to get a job. There are a few of the legitimate companies that, after you have qualified for the job, ask you to pay for a background check if you will be handling sensitive information like credit cards. It's usually $20-$30 and from legitimate companies is a legit fee to pay. Other than that, there is no reason or need to pay anything if you just want a job. Some of the call center jobs, you are an independent contractor (IC) and some you are an employee.
If you want to start a home based business, there will be fees involved and business expenses. There are many legit business opportunities out there in direct sales, multi-level and network marketing. There are great companies to work with, but having a business isn't for everyone.

Hello, first of all I want to tell you I have checked out tons of work at home jobs..going to extremes of looking them up on the Better Business Bureau website..all the ones I have found have a NEGATIVE file..then I came across this work at home job..looked them up and they are satisfactory..they have been in business for 9 yrs now. I took the first step by giving them a chance and it is the best decision I have made for myself..they train, give you everything you need to actually make money and everyone who works for them are extremely helpful. I urge you to look over their site and watch the video that is presented (which tells you what the business is about and how you make a profitable paycheck). Just thought Id let you know about this because I have went thru the same thing you are going thru..looking at tons of online jobs to find nothing but a waste of my time. Most work from home opportunities start by working in an office. Most companies will not move someone to work from home until the person shows that they can be trusted to work effectively from home.
Since going into an office to prove your worth doesn't appear to be an option for you, try searching for opportunities on job search sites. If they ask you for money, it's probably a scam.
Edit: I've just thought of something else. Try going to local small businesses and seeing if they need any data entry services. I would try places like Doctor's offices that might be interested in outsourcing their billing. It's a long shot, but at least you'll know it's not a scam. |

Yes - there really is a "work at home job" out there. Your success in any at home job depends strongly on being self-motivated, disciplined, and goal oriented. I work Pampered Chef part time with am Internet web-site. The wedding registries are gold mines, but again, it does require going out to bridal shops to display flyer's for customers to pick up, maybe attending a bridal fair, and/or contacting Wedding Coordinators for leads. This is just one avenue PC has created to help make a stay at home career possible. |

There are definitely some online work at home opportunities, but unfortunately there are also many scams.
Never ever pay to "start up" over the internet. I've been cheated out of money when I thought I was investing a bit in order to get started, but the company I paid never even helped me make money.
Since then, I've been lucky enough to be introduced to a really great site by my girlfriend. Now I use a website that I really like... in fact, I like it so much I decided to write a blog about it. I don't think you should ever sign up for a website that you aren't informed about, so check out my blog at http://moonlitemoney.blogspot.com to learn more and click one of the links to sign up if you're interested. I'm not trying to sell anything, I just think there should be some resources available to people who are looking to earn money online, because it really is possible.

There is serious money to be made from the internet, but most of the ones you will find online are scams, pyrimid scheems, and just plain CRAP! belive it or not though, there are many ways that one can make some decent income by staying at home. There are two blogs that I highly reccomend you visit. Both of these writters are honest, and they practise what they preach. You will also find that both of these sites have a common theme, make money by doing LOTS of diffrent things online. Even blogging it's self can earn you income! I can really feel your frustration and there is not much out there, but 4 years ago I found a wonderful group of moms who also work from home and I have never looked back. It has been a great and STABLE source of income for my family.
I am a stay at home mom and have been ever since my kids were born. There is great peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly where my income is coming from each month and knowing how much it will be. There is no guesswork!!!
