Mocha | Is vending on ebay good way to earn money? |
I love to buy stuff cheap(maybe in bulk) and sell for profit. Well I used to do this on an online game and earned a lot of game money through this. Is real life vending the same? I am thinking of earning money through ebay. Looking around online to buy a lot for cheap and then selling individual for more on ebay. Anyone else do this? Tell me if this is a good way to earn some extra cash. I am 17 years old and jobless. I liked vending on the game which was very similar to ebay but less technical(with shipping etc.) |

Ive made a bit of money since I quit my job a a month ago, go for the Ebay, put your heart into it, give oustanding customer service, and youll do very ,very well!Your age will not matter, just trust yourself to do well. Invest in packing tape and collect and keep boxes from friends and family so you dont have to buy them. Set up achecking account if you dont have one yet, a PayPal account and a UPS account ,they work together . You'll need all these to really be successful on Ebay. Good Luck!! |

You have to be 18 to register on ebay. That will give you some time to do your research before you get started.
Dealing with the public is not the same as playing a game. You have to deal with all kinds of people and some are not very nice.
You don't say what sorts of things you want to buy in bulk, but be sure it's something people want to buy. Personally I seldom buy anything new on ebay, I buy vintage items and so do most people I know.
By the time you are ready to sell, you might decide to look at other websites, because with the new policy changes I don't know what the future of ebay will be.

With the changes coming at ebay, you are going to be looking at fees of at least 8.75% of the selling price, plus 2.9% of the total including shipping, plus 30 cents in final value and paypal fees!
Do the math and be sure that you have enough profit margin in your items to afford to support ebay fees. I would look for a cheaper venue! |

i would say no, ebay is very difficult. you do 90 percent of the work. while their are other super business like http://www.iwantwebsite.com which does all that 90 percent of the work. |

Most of the successful ebay power sellers have two MAJOR advantages going for them:
1. They sell something UNIQUE! Whether it's first edition books or other collectibles or their very own home-made quilts, nobody can buy those exact items from them. Planning to sell mass-manufactured items on ebay (that ANYONE ELSE can also buy, and undercut you on price) is a recipe for disaster.
2. They are doing something else besides selling (building their brand, building a free mailing list, etc)...this is the little-known secret of ebay success that is rarely discussed... |

I have been doing that for years, only I don't buy in bulk.
You need to be absolutely sure that what you are thinking about selling can be purchased in bulk and then resold for the current average going price of the items on eBay.
You can determine that by going to eBay and clicking on "advanced search" next to the search button.
On the next page enter your item name and click on the "completed listings only" check box.
That will tell you what did and didn't sell and the selling prices of the ones that did sell. |

Yeah, my best friend's wife has been doing it for 3 years, and she does well. The key thing is to buy stuff at local garage sales or auctions and sell them on e-bay. You will have to open up a pay pal, but you will probably have to be 18. Have your parents or someone else open it up, if this is the case. It's better to have your parents open it though. It can get addicting. She buys the family's Christmas with all of her earnings. Her husband makes a ton of money anyways, so it's all good. But if I didn't have to work, I would do it. Just be careful for all of the schemers. E-Bay has a lot of them. |
