Yes. Wal-Mart is the perfect example of a great business model. Sam Walton set out to do merchandising because he said, "I think I can out-KMart KMart." And he did just that. Wal-Mart has consistently provided Americans with goods they want to purchase at a price lower than anyone else does. Everyone laments that Wal-Mart puts other companies out of business, and that's probably true. You know what? AT&T put the Pony Express out of business. The Internet put travel agents (for the most part) out of business. It's called "survival of the fittest." I got put out of business by another company that was able to do what I did faster better and cheaper. It just means I had to reinvent, and find something else to do.

Yes for the consumer who benefits from low prices and wide variety of goods.
No for the local stores who can't compete and must shut their doors.

Walmart is good for china...Not for USA...it hurts it's competition...monopolizes the market...Small businesses becomes price taker....!
For consumers?...it's very good...lotta choice...and variety...good pricing! |

Somehow Wal-Mart brainwashes us! I don't know how they do it but im onto them..for example I go in to just buy Toothpaste and Soap...and yet I come out with a dvd player ($24.95) who couldn't resist....DVD movies ($4.99) good deal!....Junk food, A t-shirt to sleep in and other useless things i don't need...I wanted to spend $5 bucks ends up being $95.00 bucks! damm you WAL-MART!!!! LOL |
