You can be president of the sole proprietorship if you want. You can be "director", "manager", "owner", or whatever you want.
It's just a title, they are not regulated terms. |

You can definitely use President or Owner
One thing to remember when deciding on what to call yourself when you are a sole proprietor - how do you want others to perceive you?
Do you want to project the image that you are a "big" company, even though you're a 1-person business? The benefit of this approach is that customers are more inclined to deal with you . Others think that if you're a 1-person business, you may not be able to do what they need and want; hence will skip you over other businesses that they think are more capable to handle the work. The Web especially allows small businesses to appear big; so your title can project that "bigness" as well.
Sometimes in business, it's all about image and how you project yourself. Your title, however, you want to call yourself, should reflect that image that you want others to see. |
